Adrienne and John met in 2001 as members of another Band. This is where they realized their love for both music and each other. The pair began writing original music together soon after meeting and created the band Bastet in 2002. In the early days of the band, Bastet performed as an acoustic rock group comprised of Adrienne’s lead vocals, two guitars and a djembe. As band members came and went the talent got better and the sound became fuller. Drummer Lance, Bassist Erik, and Lead Guitarist Leo joined Adrienne and John. Bastet recorded a demo of their music and performed throughout the DFW area. In 2004, Lance departed to fulfill family obligations. This is when Jake joined the group. For the next year Bastet performed in Houston, Dallas, and Tulsa, OK. Jake and Leo both left the band around 2006. Adrienne, John, and Erik perform as an acoustic group for about a year. In 2007 Drummer Jay joined Bastet. At this point it became clear that performing cover songs would be more lucrative than performing original music. So for the next two years Bastet performed as a cover band at various parties and venues before calling it quits in 2009.
