Couvre x Chefs is delighted to present Lofoten, the debut EP from Næja (@naejaa), a member of the collective and label since 2019.

After making his first appearance on CxC Vol. 2 in 2022, an eccentric Dubstep remix for anyoneID in 2023, and DJ sets packed with unreleased tracks, the Parisian DJ and producer finally unveiled his first solo release.

Comprising 3 original tracks and a remix of the same anyoneID, Lofoten sweeps through the rich sonic aesthetic of its author. Somewhere between Deconstructed Club Music, Dubstep, Hardcore Continuum and futuristic sound design, the EP takes us into Næja’s dark, hybrid club universe. Sometimes minimalist (Lofoten, Quantum), sometimes maximalist (Trance Gener8), the tracks shine through their meticulous arrangements, giving this first EP consistency, originality and solidity.

Marchesa Casati is the midnight apparition, the priestess of funk - she is the lady octopus with the seductive looks. Aboard her Milanese galleon, Casati commands the waves dressed perfectly nude beneath a fur cloak, guarded by three-tailed panthers on diamond-studded leashes. With contributors hailing from Colombia, Mexico, Ecuador, Germany, the U.S., China, U.K., and France, the compilation reads as a dispatch from a network of producers who share an intuitive understanding of rhythm-forward, bass-weighted dance music, no matter where they call home.

26Degrees is a DJ and producer based in Germany, who likes to explore the interconnections between various club and rave genres. His sound has been shaped by the local scene of his hometown Karlsruhe while also drawing from influences from UK Bass, Latin Club and early Rave Music. 26Degrees’ productions have been played by artists like Ma Sha or Dangermami and has been featured on various radio stations like BBC Radio One and Rinse FM.
