'Grey Bar Hotel is a Berlin-based melodic house label curated by Michael Ritter and Felix E. Alongside showcases in and outside of Germany, the imprint focuses on fostering local and international artists, working with Kamilo Sanclemente, Indigo Man, Supacooks, and many more since the label’s inception in 2018. A regular performer around Berlin, Michael Ritter has previously appeared on Stellar Black, YOMO Records and Polyptych. 

Returning to his own Grey Bar Hotel for his latest release, the DJ/producer delivers four deep and moving tracks across the ‘Yawa Raf’ EP. Leading the release, the title track ‘Yawa Raf’ builds with rolling percussion amongst sparkling, discordant motifs, filtered vocals, and a rolling low-end groove. ‘Barfuss’ continues with deep kicks, a gentle bassline, and hypnotic synth lines building up to a delicate piano sequence. Rapid-fire shakers and hi-hats meet club-friendly analogue leads on ‘Cassé’, before closing track ‘Elephant’ rounds out the release with syncopated melodic elements and clever arrangements amongst gorgeous chords. Tash's Movement Recordings caps off 2022 by unveiling the third installment of their 'ProgNoesis' series. Landing in December of 2020, the inaugural edition of 'ProgNoesis' featured an amalgamation of progressive house and melodic techno, with a cohesive blend of both new and established artists delivering genre-defying tracks. The success of the first volume paved the way for edition number two which landed a year later amidst praise from Danny Tenaglia, John OO Fleming, Mariano Mellino, Mind Against and more. Now becoming an annual tradition, Movement Recordings presents the third installment of 'ProgNoesis' featuring new music from Tash, Chris Cargo, Govinda, Reig (FR) and Orlanne, Varun Fernandes and Chris Drifter.

Selection two finds Chris Cargo making his label debut with 'Ascension'. Forever etched in progressive music lore for his releases on Choo Choo and Renaissance, Irish artist Chris Cargo has maintained a position at the forefront of the scene. The last five years has seen Chris modernize his sound and in turn land projects via Beat Boutique, Flow Vinyl, Juicebox Music, Mango Alley and his own If You Wait imprint. Now, fresh off a three-track showcase for label affiliate Movement Limited, Chris debuts on Movement Recordings with the hypnotic sounds of 'Ascension'.

Some time ago we had a utopian vision that seemed impossible in an increasingly saturated market where the music business was taking the strength and direction where many artists were betraying their talent to sell more records and become popular.

Back then, two enthusiasts from their little corner in Paris decided to create a record label to give some positive air to all the pollution and toxicity we were living, a label where we could all contribute in a positive way to help children in the poorest regions of the world.

Who are you? Thanks but no thanks, we often heard, but over time the idea became a reality and with the help of many artists who without asking for anything in return did not hesitate for even a second to be part of this project Lost on You was born and that vision became our mission.

Today, after 5 years of foundation the effort of all led us to build a school in Sierra Leone where 207 children study happily since September 2021 in 6 well-equipped classrooms, with teachers well-trained by our organization and collaborators. Going a step further for this year 2023 we will open two new schools in Liberia in partnership with SoundCloud, but none of this would be possible without all the people involved in our project, from the artists to the media who help us without asking anything in return. This release is a tribute to all of them, a selection of our favorite tracks during these 5 years, for you and for all those who are still faithfully by our side.
