Uploaded on YouTube four months ago, I have now uploaded my, to date, most notable - and least cursed - piece of music to SoundCloud. The drum pattern of the original version paired with the already fast 164 BPM tempo made me think that this was an obvious thing to do - and to my surprise, I did not find anyone else before myself who had done so. So I did it, and blessed/cursed the world with the existence of such a song.

Here's the story on why this exists: A character in my novel, Dakota: Elemental Rebirth, is a fan of jungle, drum & bass, and breakcore of all kinds. In their world, they have someone who's NOT Taylor Swift, named Baylor Drift—an edgy underground, plus-sized, gothic dnb artist. So since it's "B & D with the DnB" over there, I got curious to know what a song of hers might sound like—ergo, this remix exists. If I do another one of another song, I'll want to make it a faster, aggressive one to contrast against this softer mix here; but, I'm not a Swiftie, so I don't know what song would really fit for that. It was hard enough trying to pick out a song that not only he would listen to or that Baylor Drift would make, but that I would even want to work with, just from what her lyrics tend to revolve around. But, we'll see. You're now cursed with hearing this song.

Have this soft, downtempo, grooving DnB version of a chill song from someone far more successful than I. The original felt like something to play during a montage of someone's broken backstory or one of those sad Simpsons edits, so I made this with a sort of longing pensiveness in mind and a will to drive onward through utter anguish and overwhelming inner turmoil.

Just in time for graduation season, except I didn't get it done the way I wanted it until a whole month later than I aimed for so graduation season is practically over now. But feel nostalgic anyways, 'cause these days will never be seen again. They're all gone once the night falls.

I opted to not use a "pure" sub bass tone this time and instead relied on boosting sub frequencies from acoustic sounds.
