Blood Moon (Live @Thelonius)

Escribí "Tirando Piedras" en un momento en el que buscaba inspiración. Sentía que mi energía estaba estancada y necesitaba elevarme. Pensé en lo que me inspira y me hace sentir esa alegría 'infantil' de estar vivo, y de ahí surgieron las palabras de la canción.

El desafío que presento en esta canción es contra las limitaciones que nos inculca la sociedad, no renunciaré a mis sueños sin importar las expectativas externas.

Esta canción está escrita en español ya que quiero conectarme con mi gente en Chile, donde vivo, para que no haya barreras lingüísticas y podamos profundizar nuestra conexión compartida.

Mark Driver is a songwriter and composer from London, UK - living currently in the central region of Chile.

A desire to explore the interaction between the natural world and the human, as well as his own journey of self discovery during the pandemic - motivated the release of his first EP Alas in 2021. Alas EP is orchestral folk music exploring the idea of connecting to the natural world in order to understand our human condition. 

“I began to feel really connected with the rural Chilean landscape and the Andes. I want to create music which represents the time and place in which I was living. Therefore these songs are in Spanish.” 

Born and raised in North London, Mark played in bands for most of his teens and whilst studying Literature in Nottingham. In his mid 20s, Mark lived as a traveller in the Americas, living in alternative communities - finally to settle in Chile in 2019.

Upon settling in Chile he began studying musical composition, with a vision to bring something more to the well trodden grounds of the singer-songwriter. 

His first full body of work 'So Long, So Long', featuring five original songs spanning styles from experimental folk to progressive rock, was recorded in Santiago, Chile and released in 2022.

Mark can often be found walking in the hills near his house.. or tending to his plants.
