Shuteyes (Buffalo / New York) & Dirty Hairy ( London / Zagreb ) connected in 2007 with a mutual love of hip hop and jazz. With consistent output a strong bond formed, and Anteek Recipes was born a few years later.

Their sound combines funky raw raps with topics spanning a general disdain for anything remotely commercial or fake, to stories and themes about graffiti, stealing records and straight up classic rap bars. Hairy's production is dusty MPC60 driven jazz loops, chops and breaks that
are deeply excavated from the crates of the world.

Mother Nature Is Calling Me

Hiatus was inspired by Mac's personal experience of the events of 2020. During the height of the pandemic, he took a break and temporarily relocated from Dubai back to his childhood home of Suffolk in the UK, where this music was conceived and created. 

Hiatus has a laid back and natural sound. Pulling samples from 60s and 70s Jazz and Samba, along with Mac’s trademark boombap drums. Taking time and care to shape every element and sound, whilst incorporating live bass, guitar and percussive elements, paying special attention to the mix. 

The product of some much needed time out, this EP should guide listeners to unwind and reset.
