in my short time of writing songs and making music, i've never written or produced anything quite like this. the song itself is quite depressing if you really listen to it, but it carries a message of hope, that, no matter how low we feel, no matter how dead and far from god we feel, there's hope.

behind the lyrics:

originally, i wrote this song a few years ago, but never sang it or put it to music, but this tune has been lingering in my head ever since then, so i decided to change the lyrics up a bit to make it more suitable for the music and album.
when i was younger, i liked writing songs and albums but i almost never put them to music, the imaginary album that this song belonged to was about a city, called destruction city, which represented the world, and nobody bothered finding the true light, which was jesus, so they just used candles as gods, but they never satisfied, they just burned out.
the last line in the song tells that these people (the world) knows what they're doing, but still stay in destruction city... a sad but true story.
