I think this was my dad‘s favorite verse. I heard him quote it many times. I think there are many Christians who don’t understand the impact of what it says. Not only was Paul not ashamed of the message, he was boastful of it, and correctly understood it to be very life-giving words of God himself. Just as God spoke the world into existence in the beginning, so also, when we tell the good news, we speak new life into people AS the Holy Spirit grants hearers the gift of faith. Everyone needs good news daily. How much more then, do people need it who do not yet know Christ! Share this good news of Jesus’ love!

This is from Psalm 90. Time slips by, but the LORD is our rock and dwelling place, through all generations and eternity.

I Am Not Ashamed of the Gospel

Ardis Loock from Stanley, North Dakota did vocal solo here. Debra Larsen Bottjen wrote the song and sang it with her sisters in their Seattle Lutheran Bible Institute years! (the '70s).  My wife and I recorded this in Mayville, ND with Ardis (and Caroline Brown) just before returning to Luther Seminary for my final year there.

Glory, Honor and Praise

I'm in love with my wife of 45 years. Enjoy my kids and grandkids. Grateful to Jesus for life. Glad for gifts of music, health, and friends. Teach music at home and at the Martin Luther School.
