Born and raised in Highland Park, Los Angeles and rooted in Michoacán, México, Papá Coyote carries the rhythm of two worlds. Summers were spent herding cows, harvesting maiz, and riding horses under the sun, learning from his Abuelita the values of community, humility, and respect for the land.

From an early age, Papá Coyote was drawn to sound as a force for unity and resistance. Inspired by stories of the Zapatista Uprising in Chiapas during the 1990s, he became a passionate voice for human rights and social justice. At 12 years old, he formed his first garage punk band, channeling rebellion and rhythm through his guitar. 
Justice became his compass, guiding him across continents and causes. As global traveler and human rights advocate, he’s lived across Thailand, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico, working with communities defending land and dignity. His journeys through Latin America, Asia, and Africa shaped a sound that fuses ancestral memory with resistance.

Singing in multiple languages, including his native Purépecha Papá Coyote weaves indigenous wisdom with Corrido, Cumbia and Hip Hop Beats. A true cultural storyteller, Papá Coyote creates music that transcends borders, uniting past and future through rhythm, heart and purpose. His sound is authentic, conscious and globally resonant.
