Radio GAMeC—the project emerged in 2020 during the healthcare emergency via the social media channels of the Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art of Bergamo, and recognized by UNESCO as one of the best museum initiatives in the world to emerge during the first lockdown — returns with a new season.
Dedicated to the institution’s anniversary, Radio GAMeC 30 is conceived as an observatory over the changes that have shaped the last 30 years of history.
Starting from the point of view of personalities from the world of art and culture who have lived through the experiences of the last three decades first hand, with the aim of recounting aspects of a complex and changing reality, Radio GAMeC 30 proposes a journey in stages, guided by director Lorenzo Giusti and curator Ilaria Gianni.
From the birth of the World Wide Web in 1991 to the fall of Kabul in 2021, passing through the cloning of Dolly the sheep in 1996 and Black Lives Matter in 2013, Radio GAMeC 30 presents a schedule of 30 appointments, one for each year, in a narrative marked by events that, for historical-political, technical-scientific, social or environmental reasons, have represented the opening of a new path or a fracture in a common path.

Radio Luxembourg was the forerunner of pirate radio stations with its continuous wavelength shifting and broadcasting to forbidden areas. The end of its long-wave transmission on January 1, 2023, ended an era. To celebrate the end of the harmful electromagnetic waves we invite you to delve into our pirate broadcast to discover the real knowledge about the influence of radiation on human and non-human well-being in the safety of high-end Faraday cages.

* phenomenon of cross modulation between two radio waves, one of which is strong, passing through the same part of a medium, especially a conductive region of atmosphere or a plasma. Current theory seems to be that the conductivity of the ionosphere is affected by the presence of strong radio waves. The strength of a radio wave returning from the ionosphere to a distant point is dependent on this conductivity level.

This is the first episode in the mini-series Art in Permacrisis, a podcast on the organization of art workers in the face of the ever-growing stack of crises. How can artists make a living without selling their souls? Can we imagine and practice a sustainable art economy beyond precarity? How should we transform the circulation of artworks, the curriculum of art and design academies, the exhibition programs of museums, and the organization of collectives and unions? We invite speakers with combined backgrounds in art, theory, and organizing to share their insights.

For this episode, we are welcoming Kuba Szreder. Kuba is a lecturer in art theory at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and a freelance curator. He co-founded the Free/Slow University of Warsaw and the Office for Postartistic Practices. The main topic of our conversation is Kuba's book ABC of the Projectariat: Living and Working in a Precarious Art World.

mono no aware (もののあわれ) is the first compilation to be released on PAN, collating unreleased ambient tracks from both new and existing PAN artists.

Featuring Jeff Witscher, Helm, TCF, Yves Tumor, M.E.S.H., Pan Daijing, HVAD, Kareem Lotfy, ADR, Mya Gomez, Sky H1, James K, Oli XL, Bill Kouligas, Flora Yin-Wong, Malibu, and AYYA, the compilation moves through more traditional notions of what is called ’ambient’, to incorporating wider variations that fall under the term.

“Mono no aware”, ‘the pathos of things’, also translates as “an empathy toward things", or "a sensitivity to ephemera”. A term for the awareness of impermanence, or the transience of things. A meditation on mortality and life's transience, ephemerality heightens the appreciation of beauty and sensitivity to their passing. In investigating the passing of time, the boundaries between memory and hallucination become blurred; between fiction and reality. The movement of time transforms into an eternal present.

The album is mastered and cut by Rashad Becker at D&M, featuring photography by Molly Matalon and design by Bill Kouligas. A limited version of 100 copies will be released as a special art edition in collaboration with Mount Analog for the LA Art Book Fair 2017, before going on general release.
