God Above

I created this as a homage to Bernard Purdie and Jeff Pocarro, essentially taking their infamous halftime shuffles and applying it within quintuplet context. I had the pleasure of working with producer Kush Mody (Watsky, Anderson .Paak) who helped evolve the previous ideas I developed with the equally as talented Kenny Mcwilliams (Archer Avenue) and Uzoma Udogwu (Orpheus Sounds).

Truly, this was a love child that I brought to Justin Daniels (H3RO)when I needed a release from the political climate of 2016. He perfectly translated the anxiety felt by myself (and I assume others) into his own lyrics that are both brilliantly spoken and performed. 

Paisley Marie is featured in the pre-chorus, providing the track with much needed soul, relativity, and confidence. I love her voice!

Catherine Galan is featured on the chorus, each one of her harmonies blending perfectly and powerfully. I love each of these artists, and I'm proud to have worked beside them.
