Another Amy Macdonald song that I played probably in 2019 but also found on my google drive. I was her huge fan around 2010-2013 and as you can probably tell, she's still very important to me. 
The picture is something I painted in 2011 following a Bob Ross tutorial that my dad downloaded for me from The Polish Hamster Downloading Site (trade mark)

When Caroline Polachek released the instrumental for her album Pang, I decided I needed to cover Insomnia.  Something about it was so appropriate for this moment… starting into the void of an unknown future.  “And it’s not enough… no reply, no relief”.

This is a version of the unfinished song originally recorded by Jeff Buckley, son of Tim Buckley, and Elizabeth Fraser of the Cocteau Twins.

The two recorded a rough demo of this beautiful piece during their short-lived time together, however it was never formally released or even properly recorded. Sadly, Jeff Buckley died in 1997 at the age of 30. 

As beautiful as the song is (and how can it not be with those 2 angelic voices singing), I have always been left with the impression that it isn't actually finished and it deserves to be so. In short, I think that there is an opportunity to bring this song to a much wider contemporary audience and, in doing so, draw attention to the great legacy of these 2 artists.

For this version we have retained the opening lyric, “My eyes are baptism” and the chorus but created a new narrative for the song.
