As crushing as the unstoppable flow of time can be, as grinding as the never ending tick of the clock seems, there is beauty and dark comfort in the steady, reliable beat that keeps order to our existence.

The Weight Of Time

Free style composed after talking to a friend who was heartbroken. Listening to it years later, I was inspired by the thought of loneliness it evoked, and I just have this mental picture of being marooned on a distant plant, able to survive, but knowing I would never make it back.

Remebering You

Learning to Fly

This short composition was inspired by one of the most iconic parks in this country, Central Park. To me it represents an island of natural beauty in a sea of population. I was inspired by the thoughts of quiet solitude, a walk in the park on a clear afternoon.

So the Sax has always been one of my most favorite solo instruments to listen to (other than the piano!) and I wanted to challenge myself and see if I could compose a piece using only Sax voices. What came out of that was this piece which is inspired by the following. Imagine evening in New York, dark, rainy , dirty , noisy, crowded and a street musician (Sax player) on the street, competing with the City to be heard. As the song progresses, night carries on, the city empties out, the noise is replaced with only our lonely street musician, playing for everyone, and no one at all, until finally, as the sun comes up on a new day, the city cleaned from sound and filth by the rain, and we see the beauty that was there all along, just hidden.

Sunrise In New York

Not sure how I would describe this composition. The name sort of implies it, it just sort of drifts between ideas. Like many of the projects I have worked on, I love to have mental imagery relating to the songs, sort of like I am playing movies in my head and the songs are sometimes more "soundtracks" than musical pieces. But music does that to me, not just stirring emotions, but engaging the imagination. For this piece I envisioned being out in space, on a ship, losing control, and surrendering to where the universe will take me in the end.

Adrift

I started playing piano at about 7. Took lessons for about 5 years (though not classically trained) and then quit because I would rather play outside with my friends, what a mistake! When I got older and fell in love with classical piano, I realized I missed my chance to build the required form, dexterity and control to be able to play the true classical masterpieces. However, I still love classical piano and this was my attempt to compose more of a classical style piece.

15 The Sleeper Dreams

I used to compose music (primarily piano and keyboard) many years ago. I got married, had a family, and a career, and unfortunately lost my time for music. Over the last several years, there has been a series of events that has re-introduced me to that love of music. In the process, I have found many recordings of my past compositions. I am using this channel to share these with anyone who finds them entertaining, inspiring or just simply interesting. Who knows what the future holds, but maybe I will be inspired and start writing again.  Music is the language of the soul, and it is always been my best friend, through joy and sorrow.
