Chuma Mhlawuli best known as CSWALO / SWALO, is a song writer, young independent rapper from South African, Cape Town.

 

Personal Life

I'm the last born from my mother and the first born from my father, I grew up in a Township called Gugulethu, that's where I began with the music career. I started playing soccer in a very young age then i ended up quitting it for music, I met friends that were groupies, then started to become a problem at school, Peer-pressure was taking over my life. I started smoking, drinking and Bullying other children at Primary school because I was their senior.
In 2005 I fond with music, Listening to another group of music that is still Inspiring me even today, called DRIEMANSKAP, that used to perform in Sports Complex back then.

I was so Inspired and Motivated by them because they were Encouraging young people to focus on a healthy lifestyle and more about living right.

 

Music Career 

I started rapping in 2005 by freestyling do acapella beats that we used to make it by our hands and mouth, I was too serious about rap games a lot then started to attend free gigs and shows for battles and competitions. In 2007 I recorded my songs by a cell phone and downloaded beats so that people can hear what I was all about.

It was the struggle to find studio and  record an mp3 because I was young and my Family couldn't accommodate for me. I focused on this career because I taught myself not to give up.

I took music as my Ambition, In 2015 I met DAT Click (Dominate Assassinate Takeover) That's where I started recording my first good quality song called KNOW WHO WE ARE. Those friends really helped me with recording and supporting my brand. Back then again, I recorded another Debut song of love and Joy titled THELI MALI , that's when I reached a fan base around Cape town.

Radio Stations and Television Programmes interviewed me the my Brand was glowing around the Townships.

 I released various mixtapes and EP's titled I AM SWALO, Life of a Hustler, EGO MY PRIDE. I marketed the brands, selling the Discs around the Townships, performances and schools then People tend to know me.

In 2017 on the 19th of August I made a very huge event known as Fill Up Guga Sthebe, I also gained exposure from it. Now I am working on my 2018 Extended Play Project titled The Last Supper and I already dropped  three singles titled FOREAL , Tshepang Mohale and Chill Bro.
