Here is my first solo jawn.  I was born in the 80's, grew up in 90's. "Walk With Me" is inspired by the smooth vocals and sounds of that era. This track pulls on my heartstrings with its airiness and I feel it delivers a potent message. From my heart and mind to yours.  Hope you like it.

Walk With Me

When I was a kid I used to sing this song for my Dad.  He was so impressed that I took the time to memorize every word and then he helped me translate it.  Five years ago, I was about to play my first solo show.  I was nervously trying to get my set together and for whatever reason I kept thinking of this song... but not with the original melody- the one I learned and had been singing for so many years... I kept singing it with a different, more somber melody and imagined almost like a samba as accompaniment.  I wondered if I should perform it that night even though I had no music to go with it and didn't really consider myself a singer.  It was then that I noticed the date.  Nov 22nd.  It was my Dad's birthday and I hadn't even realized it.  I decided I would sing the song acapella that night.  
Today my Dad would have been 74 years old. 
He took his own life almost 10 years ago.  My dad was not a perfect man.  And there will unfortunately always be some dark memories I will never forget.  But I choose to also never forget the bright memories.  The joyful ones.  And this song Volare (which means "to fly") will forever bring me comfort that my Father's Spirit is now free and flying despite his experience here on Earth.  Auguri Papa.

Feeling thankful for all of the experiences -light and dark- that life has given me as an artist, as a woman, and as a human being. I love my city, my family, and my community.  I love our planet and the human race.  Hope you like my music.
