Expanding on the “Big Riffs and Emo Sensibilities” ethos showcased by their debut EP Grey., Cave builds on the bands visceral yet delicate blend of rock and metal, completed by emotive vocals, introspective lyrics and nostalgic yet modern riffs. 

Combining the heartfelt emotion of Holding Absence via the roaring post-hardcore riffs of Fightstar/Funeral For A Friend, Cave provides a beautifully punishing British punch to the gut, elevated by the thought provoking subject matter. Opening with an expansive, dreamlike soundscape and twinkling guitars, Mike and Zanders wistful, harmonies tell the story of ‘Platos Cave’ from a different point of view (pun intended).  Erupting into a soaring chorus, the riffs push the track on at a belting rate of knots, exploring the notion of being stuck in an echo chamber of our own design. The world is scary place and something that we do not have enough control or understanding of, maybe our echo chamber is the place that we feel safest of all.

Evoking a myriad of emotions throughout the entirety of its run time, Cave is the culmination of a tumultuous year and a half of passion, hard work and social distancing from all the members of Take Flight.

Take Flight are thrilled to unveil their eagerly awaited new single, The Inconsistent. 

 Expanding on the "Big Riffs and Emo Sensibilities" ethos showcased in their debut EP Grey., and the sound developed in their follow-up single A Modern Allegory of the Cave, The Inconsistent amplifies the band's raw yet tender fusion of rock and metal. This track is a powerful blend of emotive vocals, introspective lyrics, and nostalgic yet modern post-hardcore riffs. 

For fans of the heartfelt emotion of Holding Absence, the British swagger of Boston Manor, combined with the roaring post-hardcore riffs of Fightstar, Alexisonfire, and Funeral for a Friend, The Inconsistent delivers a beautifully punishing British punch, elevated by its thought-provoking narrative. 

Opening with a driven, frenetic riff, the song sets a determined tone from the start. Mike and Zander's voices intertwine, telling a poignant story of addiction, loneliness, loss, and defiance. As the track progresses, it erupts into a soaring chorus, with riffs propelling the song at a rapid pace. The lyrics delve deeply into themes of isolation, loneliness, regret, and addiction, touching on concepts of the human psyche and fear of the unknown. The Inconsistent presents a sonic allegory that is as impactful lyrically as it is instrumentally.

Take Flight are thrilled to announce the release of their highly anticipated new single, Beachy Head(ache), landing on 10th September 2025. 

 

Taking a more introspective turn than their previous release The Inconsistent, Beachy Head(ache) continues to build on the band’s signature ethos of “Big Riffs and Emo Sensibilities” first introduced in their debut EP Grey. and further developed in A Modern Allegory of the Cave. This latest track offers a raw yet tender fusion of rock and metal, blending emotive vocals, reflective lyricism, and nostalgic post-hardcore riffs into what is being hailed as a modern emo anthem.

The song’s narrative explores the value of life, the experience of feeling lost, and the journey towards self-understanding. While open to interpretation, its core message is one of resilience: that introspection, though often dark, can lead to light if we persevere. 

 

Five years in the making, Beachy Head(ache) features some of Zander’s most personal lyrics to date-first shared publicly during his appearance on First Dates in 2020. Since then, the song has evolved into something far greater, shaped by time, experience, and growth.

Following on from ‘Know’ their "Statement of Intent" first single - ‘Breathe.’ cements the "Big Riffs and Emo Sensibilities" ethos of the band. Combining tender moments, a massive singalong chorus, an introspective breakdown and an eastern tinged solo, ‘Breathe’ holds nothing back.

Perusing the "Big Riffs and Emo Sensibilities" ethos of the band, ‘Rope.’ hits with a triple attack of heavy riffs, screams and lyrical content. Touching on suicide, hopelessness and helplessness ‘Rope.’ is about letting go, accepting that “we are who we are”.

Perusing the "Big Riffs and Emo Sensibilities" ethos of the band,  their latest single  ‘shade.’ fuses singalong pop punk choruses, with 90's inspired heavy riffs, overlaid with cutting, subversive and self deprecating lyrics. Invoking a mix of some of our favourite bands, Deftones, Of Mice and Men, and early Ocean Grove, Shade is Take Flights most aggressive, heaviest and balls to the wall song yet.
