Start of Something

I could talk for hours and hours and hours and this song is a perfect example of that. Even if I don’t want to talk I still have so many words to say and I know it drives everyone insane when I go on and on about a person or a situation or an occurrence so I tried to put it in a song. “You make the world feel smaller” is kind of a strange line and it’s sort of hard to explain exactly what I mean but I hope it makes sense to you guys. YMTWFS is about someone who makes you want to be a better person. Even if they don’t like you back you’re kind of content (or maybe you’re not—that works too) with just liking them regardless. You want them to know you appreciate them but you’re not gonna outright tell them out of embarrassment. One of my mottos is “Embarrassment is only real if you think it’s embarrassing” and everyone thinks i’m full of shit every time I explain this but I still stand by it tbh. Even if you do the most “embarrassing” thing ever, as long as you’re content and secure with yourself is it really embarrassing? It can’t be if you don’t acknowledge the embarrassment SOOOO with that being said, I absolutely will not and do not take my own advice. Not in the slightest actually which is why this song exists. Smaller is just a mix of yearning and frustration but also happiness and the foolish/ childish fascination of a person. ￼No ill intent, all completely pure respect and admiration for a person. Just wanting to have something solely pure with someone but being too scared to tell them how you feel—which I guess is what alot of love song are about but oh wellllll. One thing i cannot justify in this songs is the lyric in the second verse “You make me miserable but not in a bad way.” because?????? I’m attached to the lyric now so it’s to late to change it but yes I agree, that’s stupid. oops. I still love this song so much. The meaning of the song is in the lyrics and I kinddddd offfff hope the person never finds out it’s about them. Okay i’m done talking for now. I love love love you. Goodnight❣️

Purple is all of my friend’s favourite song of mine so i finally got around to posting it. For K💜
Purple made me wanna keep writing music. It went from being about someone I was feeling ignored by and allowing myself to get walked all over by to having a whole new meaning. I have written better and i will continue to write better but still I hold purple at such a high spot in terms of my music because it means so much to me. I made someone cry with this song once and this is gonna sound strange but that felt so accomplishing lol. I’m glad that so many of my people saw something in this song. I can’t believe i’m able to dance to this song now (only the end because it’s still kind of a pretty mellow song but I digress). You are more than how someone you like views you. Don’t lose yourself in someone else. Don’t let someone ruin colours, songs, movies, books, albums, artists, scents, places, etc for you just because they’re gone now. Reclaim what you lost. Just because you may not have that person anymore doesn’t mean your life is over. In some cases, like purple, it can actually be even better for you. Don’t let someone treat you poorly just because they care about you *sometimes*. Sometimes isn’t enough. It’s not always easy to leave bad situations but it’s so beneficial to you in the long run. You are the one person in this world that sticks with you through everything. Even if you have nobody else you’ll always have yourself and it’s so amazing to learn how to value that. You don’t need that guy or that girl or that person to be happy. You’ll find it again. I wish I could go back and tell September 2021 Nora all of this but I can’t so I’m just saying it here. Hiii!!! it’s been a while. i’ve haven’t really picked up a guitar or written anything in weeks because of school and stuff but i finally gained the motivation to sit down and work on something so here’s a song i wrote back in July i think??? Places was originally written for one of my friends but these past couple months i’ve had a change of perspective in terms of the song. Places is for people who feel lost after losing someone. I’m so excited for this song to sound better someday (as this is a poor quality bandlab recording) but i’m glad i could put how i felt when i wrote it into music. Places is for the people that no longer speak to their childhood best friends. Places is for the people who will always save a place for someone even in their absence. Places is for the people who miss new opportunities simply because they are too busy thinking about the past ones. Places is for the people that see “home” as a person(s) instead of a physical place. Places is for the people that are finally starting to accept what cannot be changed. This is poorly recorded and edited, as I didn’t know which direction I wanted to take this song—although i think i will with time. Home is not always a place, although it’s title makes it out to be. I will always associate this song with summer 2022 and walking to physical therapy in the pouring rain with this song blasting in my headphones—Or a sunny day in my dad’s ex girlfriend’s car with this blasting on the radio. And ever since that summer, this song has become so much more than just a song about a friend. Often when I write songs they are held to one strictly thought out meaning. However, places is anything you want it to be. For whatever reason, this song helped me come to terms with a lot and helped me begin to understand and connect more with my family and i’m so glad I could give it a greater meaning than the skeleton of a song it used to be.
