The second instalment of Sasha : Scene Delete Remixes sees Max Cooper and Matthew Dear provide club versions of two tracks from ‘Scene Delete’, Sasha's ambient/soundtrack project inspired by Nils Frahm, Max Richter and Steve Reich. 

Multi-genre producer Max Cooper uses emotional dance floor experimentation to take album opener 'Channel Deq' towards deep melodic territory while 'Pontiac' is transformed beyond recognition by Matthew Dear (and Audion) into a warped techno freak out. 

'Scene Delete' will be taken live in two sold out shows at London's Barbican Centre in May, with Sasha joined on stage by a small chamber ensemble performing the album as one brooding, undulating piece. The second half of the concert sees Sasha perform new interpretations of tracks from across his career. keeping the essence of what made those songs so distinct while twisting them into new shapes.

After mesmerizing our listeners with his "Agartha" EP, Tomer returns with his lush Single 'OPT'.

During the last months he has been on a journey to create an eclectic modern cinematic techno piece with the emphasis on his signature, the Piano accompanied by a gentle cello.. Focusing on a warm sound and fragile elements around his main theme he is telling a 9 minute long story about hope and optimism while his music lives and breathes around you.

The name "Opt" is a shortcut for Optimism and is dedicated to the Israeli dance culture which is right now under heavy pressure of the Israeli police. His song is an expression of respect to all its protesters and supporters.

The remix, was done by his friend Dangur who fired an energetic debut with his last EP 'Black Fish' on our imprint. In his words he describes the process of remixing Opt as the following: "After i heard the Original track, which was so emotional and sounded to me like a movie soundtrack, i immediately felt that id like to create my own version. I contacted Tomer and was happy he accepted my request. I already had the idea to make it a bit faster and to twist the delay of the piano. My vision was to make it more clubby but still keeping the beauty of the Original, i hope i did achieve this."

‘Gloaming’ comes from three Australian artists joined by a love of texture and its ability to convey atmosphere. Every aspect of the release has been carefully and deliberately chosen, including the cover art by Kat Mager (Border Community) and mastering from Taylor Deupree (12k).

Badskin is an ambient artist from Melbourne who uses guitar loops, improvisation, live samples, and elements of rock music to create an atmosphere of submerged romanticism. Her debut album ​Where Was I (​ released on Brierfield Flood Press)​ e​ xplores the sensory aspects of belonging, from the coagulated rainforests of North Queensland to the urban sprawl of Melbourne.

Josh Warry is an Ireland-based, Australian-born artist. ‘Armin’s Shiver’ is his first release since 2014, and it sees him return with a turbulent, physical sound that he has explored through live performance in the interim. Josh has played at Dark Matter Festival in Adelaide and Cork Sound Fair, as well as supporting artists such as Robert Curgenven & ELLL.

Joe Miller writes impressionistic electronica from his studio in Melbourne, releasing on labels like Traum, All Day I Dream and Nie Wieder Schlafen. This year, he’s headlined in Saigon, Tokyo, Miami and Brooklyn, and his recent releases have been supported by Sasha, Guy J and Pablo Bolivar.

We are up for an early spring this year at Art Vibes with a bright and sparkling 3-track EP by french producer Max Tenrom. Strengthened by intense touring and studio time since the release of Skydiver in June 2019, Max delivers his sonically perfect Lotus. 

‘Lotus' conveys strong emotions straight from the first notes. We are oscillating on soft waves, an aura of nostalgia sheltering us from the outside world. Reflecting on ourselves, we acknowledge a strong hope and feel at peace. How else can you feel when you're drifting on infinite seas, warmed up by fluffy sun rays. 

Warm sounds and organic noises describe ‘Far West' best. Breakbeat rhythms and chopped vocal stabs collide to forge an immense yet reassuring space. Smooth and prone to colorful imagination, this one is for the eternal dreamers. 

With ‘Tears', Max Tenrom merges his early sound signature with new dreamy sounds. The scenery is set through the arpeggio played on warm analog synths giving a slightly harder feel to the otherwise delicate jazzy beat. Wandering through luxurious woodlands, we hear hints of lush guitars. Distant, they drag deeper into a sumptuous and astonishing expedition.

2.El Mundo - Wandering  (Dub Version)

After the 2019 launch of The Gardens of Babylon’s record label we find ourselves in a very different world. Last year’s compilation was a musical snapshot of a physical festival experience with contributions coming from those who were there. This year, the compilation assumes a different role – a sonic journey through the times, memories, and loved ones we miss, as well as a sense of comfort as we look to reunite on a dancefloor somewhere around the world. 

‘The Monastery’ 2020 draws contributions from friends and family, developing its narrative from the opening percussion of Menachem 26’s ‘Kumpaki Blues’ through the closing euphoria of Glauco di Mambro’s ‘Solar Safari. Along the way, each track reads as a different chapter, transporting listeners to the sea of smiles that make up The Monastery Festival Experience. These chapters break down the weekend, encapsulating the emotions of its many facets, locations, and feelings. With ‘Light on the Road,’ Ali Farahani sets palpable anticipation, leading into the jazzy breaks of Gorje Hewk & Izhevski’s ‘Der Geist Seiner Zeit’. Then, Maga’s delicately brooding ‘Musike’ (feat. Arc) makes way for the gently rising piano of Parallell’s ‘Everybody Knows’. By the time, Derun’s ‘Los Caminos de Sirkedji’ hits, things start getting twisty, day turns to night, and ‘The Monastery’ is in full swing. From here, Amine K, Niko Schwind, Noraj Cue & unders, Dauw, Madmotormiquel, and Headwaters expand consciousness through mythical, hypnotic offerings – some low slung, some deep, dark, and driving. This is where resident VANDER’s ‘We Can’t Get No Sleep’ drops and sums up the experience perfectly, interjecting fresh funk into groovy percussion, before giving way to afterhours vibes courtesy of KRAUT, Franca, and Sound Shapes.

It may be another year until the hallowed grounds of Goch’s Kloster Graefenthal turns into our musical paradise again, but with ‘The Monastery’ 2020 compilation, its starry nights and sweaty days transport through speakers and souls as we patiently wait for the world we know to return stronger, healthier, and more conscious than ever before.
