Dolo Ray - Heaven or Hell Freestyle

On the 23rd day of January in the year of 1991 was born Derwin Bernard Ray Jr also known as Dolo Ray at the hands of young teenage parents on the north side of St. Louis, Missouri. Around the age 1, Dolo Ray relocated to the south side of St. Louis where he was raised throughout his child hood. Dolo grew up in a difficult and chaotic environment which was surrounded by heavy crime and poverty. At an early age, Dolo Ray discovered the genuine love that he had for music in general, not just hip hop. Around the age of 6, Dolo Ray started to showcase his talents by performing during family events.  Music runs deep in Dolo Ray’s family. Some of his aunts and uncles had their own bands so Dolo quickly consumed every concept of music, from blues to jazz, hip hop, rock n roll, etc. Dolo started to take music more seriously as he reached the age of 13, when starting to write song concepts. It was a struggle at first for Dolo to create a sound. With time Dolo began to find his sound as an up and coming music artist. Although music was an important part of Dolo Ray’s life, sports was another love as well. It soon began to be hectic with playing sports to writing music. Dolo Ray chose to make music his sole priority in life. As a teenager Dolo Ray has traveled to states around the country and has performed at events and showcases. The name Dolo Ray has a very unique meaning. Coming with an image that highlights individuality and demonstrates sole isolation. A style that’s fresh and original. Dolo represents “Solo” meaning, one who takes accountability in being a loner. And “Ray” being the last name by birth, showcases originality.
