As simply stated in the title, “like a song” is a sweet and catchy crush anthem for when the person who’s on your mind can only remind you of your favorite song. It is lighthearted, fun and its lyrics can’t help but invite you to wonder what your person is up to at the moment.
The repetitive hook is bound to have you humming or singing the words as you go about your day and Gitau’s playful production will surely have you swaying and busting a move (or two)

After having your head in the clouds for the better part of the project, “cruel” is the unfortunate anchor that tethers you back to the real world. Though lacking any bitterness, Iyanah’s brutally honest lyrics cut straight through the heart delivering a message of detachment and forgiveness.
“i have no need to be cruel,” she sings, giving a sense of disappointment and not anger necessarily. Gitau’s production once again shines through with the vocal stacking in the chorus creating haunting harmonies

Iyanah is a Diani raised, Nairobi based singer-songwriter, recording, and performing artist. She describes her style of writing as being as honest as her own journal entries and her sound as not being confined to any specific genre; but being heavily influenced by what she grew up listening to, or is currently inspired by.
Music has been a core element in her life for as long as she can remember, and she has actively been writing songs since a young age, before purposefully deciding to record and release her debut single "4U" in April of 2021.
She then began her journey into live performance by doing acoustic renditions of her music at various shows such as the second 'TANGAZA and Friends' showcase, while progressing into live background vocal work for local and international talent such as Xenia Manasseh, Maya Amolo, Vallerie Muthoni, Xtatic, and June Gachui; opening for Anthony Hamilton at the Stanbic Yetu Festival with the latter.
From 2022 onwards she has released a string of successful singles and features (such as 'Lose' and 'Saviour' with friend and long time collaborator M.Rumbi).  With the release of her infectious bop of a song "mr. sneaky link" and equally addictive second single "truth", she has steadily grown a local fanbase all while recording and gearing up for the release of her first project. She is undeniably a rising act to watch in the bubbling Kenyan music scene.
