Here's a state of the nation look at the current Stairway Project Zeppelin cover (that was halted during COVID).  We've got the general sketch  about 3/4 finished - the arrangement is coming together and we've meticulously tempo mapped it to match the original Zeppelin tempo. We're trying to dial in the sounds as well as all the feel & textures of the original.

These are all still scratch tracks as we continue to work out the parts and find the right combination of guitars and amps and production tools to get everything right.

This one shows the introduction and the variations on the opening theme figure that Jimmy uses throughout the song.  When learning the song people often skip these variations but they are really important... not so much that you need to do each variation as Jimmy does - but that you should be doing some variation. Learn what Jimmy does then decide if you are going to follow his or do your own.

Ten Years Gone: Intro - Early Rough Take

This was the original draft workup of Ten Years Gone that was the foundation of the project. These parts are almost 100% scratch tracks and were the basis on which the parts were worked up for the final project.  This is probably sitting at around 75-85% accuracy in terms of parts, and maybe the same as far as performances go, but formed the basis on which decisions made for the final project with respect to process and production & workflow were explored.

This is presented here so you can see/hear how the final project was birthed from this. (Note the final project was still under construction at this point)
