On The Move (Alternate Version)

Like something out of an epic movie, 'Freedom' takes the listener on the path of a musical journey.

1. Freedom

An up tempo punk track, giving the listener an insight to some of the issues the world faced in the year 2022.

2. Blurred Lines

Sitting on the sand watching the waves and realising how vast the planet really is, especially when you're sitting alone, nobody to share the view with.

3. Stepping Stones

Nothing beats the atmosphere of being inside a small venue, the smell of sweat and alcohol surrounding you as all the bodies in the room move to the sounds of the band on stage, live and loud as good music should be.

4. Then Came The Rain

The band has left the stage, the publican calls last drinks, but you're still full of energy. So you walk the streets, passing the busker with his saxophone, til you find a club to dance your feet off til the early hours of the morning, when it's time to go home. And still the busker is down the road.

5. Night City Lights

A combination of alternative rock and progressive 80's thrash metal with a bit of grunge and jazz thrown in for good measure. Everything heavy but still something to move the listener. In one way or another.

6. Escape

A slow building track that the listener can chill back to, feeling as if they're on a journey, giving way to a nice rock finish.

7. Lost

The piano intro sets the mood for an emotional composition where the bass and drums keep a steady rhythm while the piano, saxophone and guitar are allowed space to breathe in their own special way.

8. Painting In Sound

A nice way to end the album that encourages the listener to move your butt to the sound of the beat, with a nice breakdown of reggae to take a breather.

Beginning

Beginning my musical life as a drummer in high school in the 90's,
playing in the suburbs and then the inner city stages of Sydney.
Met many cool industry people and learned the production side 
of music during many recording sessions in various studios.
Moved to the South Coast city of Wollongong in 2009,
and built my own studio, The Sound Therapy Lab in 2015.
Started playing bass and guitars while testing production skills.
Released a few tracks under the name LOGICAL INSTINCT.
Set out travelling Australia in 2020 when covid hit the planet, 
making me stay put to endure a cold Tasmanian winter. 
To keep myself sane, I began recording a full length album.
As moving around became available again, the album had parts recorded in 
various locations, from the quiet country town of Sheffield, Tasmania to the dusty outback of Broken Hill, NSW, to finally being completed at the beginning of Autumn 2021 in Rockhampton, Queensland. No Fixed Address was released under my own (official) name, J.A.Jones.
From Rocky, travelled further North to the sleepy seaside village 
Mission Beach, where the scenery and laid back feel was to enticing not to stay on a permanent basis. Sold up the Wollongong house and moved all the 
earthly possessions up to a neighboring village, Carmoo.
Built a brand new studio, The Sound Therapy Lab no.2.
Recorded and released a brand new studio album, Painting In Sound.
It is a combination of thoughts, memories, passion, and new instruments learned, including keyboard/piano and saxophone, and ranging musically from ambient soundtrack music, jazz, dance, punk, alternative progressive rock and thrash metal. And the production is of the highest level.
