Oliver tree sucks for stealing this I loved this song for years

Oliver tree is a copycat GO FUCK YOURSELF

Any one who is putting down Oliver tree needs to do their homework. Southstar sampled an Oliver tree song called jerk. Remixed it without clearing the sample and released it. Oliver reached out to have the song renamed to the and have his name put on it but southstars label said the song was already too big and the couldn’t do that so Oliver said whatever than people got the misunderstanding that it was originally southstars song and jumped at attacking Oliver tree. Southstar could have gotten his flowers had his label not have been stingy about changing the name and putting Oliver’s name on the title. Fast forward Oliver’s label got Andrew Shultz to take the beat and rework with Oliver’s name on it and kept the title I miss you to release it under his label. FYI both parties are getting paid for the song and both songs are garnishing millions of views across all platforms. Anyone putting down Oliver tree are dissing the origin of the song. Without Oliver this song wouldn’t exist.

I’ve been testing this track out on the road for the better part of 12 months, tweaking the moments until I felt it had just the right amount of dance floor appeal. It’s been so exciting to watch people connect with it right in front of me. I wrote the hook after wrapping up a club show at Audio in San Francisco back in June 2018. The crowd was really gravitating towards sustained, rolling grooves that night, so when I got back to the hotel I really felt the need to make one that was just for them. The speech in the breakdown is a sample of a local San Franciscan dance legend who I’ve respected for a long time, and I felt it was just too perfect to let the track out into the world without it.
