Zamy Juárez - Agua De Estrellas (Steffen Kirchhoff Edit)

In Australia, where the musical project Dead Can Dance is from, the aboriginal tribe of the Watagora and Kamilaroi use the word "Yulunga" refering to the "Spirit of the Dance". From there seems to stem the verb "yulugi", which in his ancestral language means to dance or to play. 

According to the Watagora, Yulunga (the Rainbow Serpent and spirit of dance) still sleeps on the River Duck. She wakes up after every storm when touched by the rays of the sun, to watch the sky and protect the good people.

Small Pipes is a dark and cinematic single from Canadian producer @johnny-posh. The scene, a haunting ritual taking place in the clearing of a jungle far from civilization. The pounding pulse of drums break the silence of the night, and only glimpses of figures appear by the flicker of firelight. 

Two very different but equally impressive remixes round out the release. A laid back guitar groover full of @haunted_water unique beats and soundscape. And finally, @nathanhallmusic drives the energy to the dance floor with a dark and melodic journey full of twists and turns.

This is a live recording of one of my favorite sets from the SunSet Cacao Dance's I played this season in Guatemala at Eagles Nest. The journey starts with a cacao ceremony and then begins with slower, spacious music. The energy builds slowly through the mix and peaks followed by a cool down towards the end as the energy comes back down. These sorts of sets are some of my favorites to play. This set also contains some of my unreleased tunes.

In the last new & full moon cycle, I felt something really beautiful occurring... The dis-covering of- & the connection with the divine feminine within... This deep rich unconditional Love caressed and awakened me, whispered tenderness, showed me softness with a rising self empowerment. It blessed me with strength and courage, filled me with selfrespect, confidence, trust and inspiration for creation. 
I had forgotten... In a still male dominated society & culture, humans seem to forget that there's an equal feminine force  involved in creation, balancing the masculine which I respect and honor fervently.  The powerful fire of grandfather Sun, our Wonderful Star, the Grand Space of infinite Creations, Powerful in al it's forms,, the Roughness & Rawness of Existence...I love the strong masculine energy :)

But The Divine Feminine is Equally Powerful. More subtle, modest, yet Omnipresent all around & within us. She Loves unconditionally, brings Balance, creates Harmony, connects & opens the Heart(s), she's the moulder of the natural world, It is the Womb, where Life is formed. She's the portal through the Infinite. 
She is feminine beauty, and women are gifted & blessed with all aspects of her power. Some call her the Mother Goddess. Planet Earth is one of her many physical appearances, nourishing our Existence, as a heartwarming caring mother...but she also is present in each and everyone of us, men & women alike, we are her children, we are her creations, we are her existence, we are the divine...  

With this set, I want to honor this divine feminine...
I wish the rise of the feminine within us all will awaken & heal the world <3

*The Divine Feminine*

Here is my live set from Envision 2019 in Costa Rica. This was one of the most powerful sets of my life. I played live so it is all loops and improvised instrumentation with my three musician friends that accompanied me on the journey: Darren Austin Hall on vocals, Marcelo Berges on guitar, and Chris Assaad on vocals. All three of these guys are great musicians in their own right so it was really fun to collaborate with them and weave this journey for a really beautiful group of people ready to receive these vibrations with a totally open heart and mind.

Currently more and more people see through this artificial illusory world and its dimensions. lies, half-truths and disinformation are no longer believed and people are beginning to actively stand up for their peace and freedom. We are facing an enormous change in which old systems are replaced by new, independent and free systems. At the same time, the spiritual level of mankind is rising again and leads to the fact that we become more sensitive and clearly more peaceful, free of judgement and more loving again. We come back to the source of our being and recognize our inseparable connection with nature. This time is also called The Golden Age – AUREA.

This spring was marked by the ceremonial spirit. Sacred plants and molecules are creating a new approach to reality. More and more the songs, dictated gently by the medicines, are heard by humanity, and transmitted through multiple channels. This set is made up of producers who have emphasized different sacred and traditional songs of multiple tribes: Kashinawa, Hune Kui, Saeki, Orixas, Kanaka Maoli, Uyghur, Bulgars and Sioux, among others. The objective never ceases to be dancing, but rising towards an intention, liberating consciousness, inviting perfection.

trndmsk: What inspired you to produce the track?

gázel: We both come from very different musical backgrounds and have almost opposing views on sound design and arrangement tactics. This manifests itself in ways that constantly surprise us. Julian has a past in Punk, Indie and Hip Hop projects and is fond of nearly any handmade music. Lucas has been listening to experimental electronic music since his teenage years and has a past in harder music styles such as Metalcore and Hard Techno. After we listened to the finished track, we realized we fused those influences together unconsciously, while still sticking to our lowest common denominator: Downtempo. We think the track does very good job at representing who we are, musically. (...)

The SunSet Cacao Dance @ Eagle's Nest Atitlán is an ecstatic dance inspired community event guided by Mose on the shores of the majestic Lake Atitlán, Guatemala.

This is a live set filmed in December, 2019. The journey starts just before sunset with a simple cacao ceremony to set intentions and drop deeper into presence and inner silence. Cacao helps to open the heart and provides energy in the form of theobromine, literally meaning "food of the Gods". In honor of worldwide Ecstatic Dance guidelines, the group is led into a space of silence through the rest of the event with the intention to deepen the experience and allow each individual to connect more deeply inside while honing the ability to connect with others through eye contact and movement. The participants are asked to refrain from consuming any other substances and no alcohol is served with the intention to tap into deep states of consciousness without the need of hard drugs and the inebriation of alcohol. 

The music starts slowly to invite people into their bodies as they feel inspired, while allowing others to stay seated in meditation or contemplation. The music slowly builds through the experience and peaks with full ecstatic movement. The wave then washes over with a slower more spacious energy to drop deeper into spaciousness and introspection until finally ending lying on the ground with soft ambient music to hold the space for integration and grounding. 

There are many of us now all around the world who can attest to the depth of experience available to us on a dance floor surrounded by beautiful, free spirited, open hearted people. Combine that with the magic of cacao and breathtaking scenery and you have a recipe for magic.

*The normal guidelines include the prohibition of cameras and cell phones in the dance space to nurture a space of freedom and to let go of our need to document and share all of our experiences. For this particular event we made an exception in hopes to give a glimpse into this expansive world. 

About the Space:
Set near the shores of renowned Lake Atitlán (Guatemala), Eagle’s Nest is a distinguished intentional hosting space for events, retreats, residencies, community hosting, workshops & summits.  With a focus on movement arts (yoga, aerials, acrobatics, circus, dance) to foster well-being, guests are invited to explore, experiment and soar beyond!  Groups of up to 24 can be hosted on-site for retreats, whilst up to 200 participants for events.

Why Nam is a magical little cove on the east side of Koh PhaNgan that is accessible by boat or by a very challenging dirt road. 

I played a 3.5 hours set to open the local burning man decompression party aka AfterBurn.

This is a wide ranging journey across countries, genres and styles, starting with a traditional indian raga and ending with afro-latin house.

I'm looking forward to playing 5,6, and even 8 hour DJ sets.

AfterBurn Ethnic Chillout 16.9.2020 Why Nam, Koh PhaNgan

When the Corona plague began, writing and composing music was for me an unrealized fantasy. At the beginning of the first closure I decided to take action, I learned the basics of music in a zoom class and hundreds of hours of online learning and doing that fills my soul with indescribable happiness. For half a year now, in every spare moment I have been studying, writing and trying to create and discovering each time how little my knowledge is and how much more there is to learn, and every such discovery fills me with happiness.
My dream was to take the melodies and piyyutim that I love so much and compose them with pleasant beats. The road is still long as mentioned, but it was two weeks ago, at 1 o'clock at night, when I suddenly hear the slichot emanating from the synagogue in front of my house. And I, who was a Spanish-style cantor and so fond of Slichot poems, did not remain indifferent, sat down in front of a microphone, recorded myself, and began to create on the recording. It was the first time in my life that I find myself falling apart crying during some piece of work, while hearing the powerful text thousands of times. So in the run-up to Rosh Hashanah, I am currently gathering courage, and for the first time raising the work in the process (premix) taken from the Slichot and the statement that - "My Lord is God".
