The latest single from The Hollow Legs titled Hubcap is finally here! After witnessing a rogue hubcap rolling down La Cienega Blvd for about a block, causing cars to swerve out of it’s deliberate fury, this comical incident inspired Lingman to use the metaphor of a hubcap’s role to convey themes of delusion and ego. 

This fast-pace rock ‘n’ roll tune with a singable fuzzy guitar riff, organic piano tones, a funky staccato bass line, and danceable drum beat is sure to make some shoulders shrug.  The song cruises into first gear with Lingman’s warbling guitar while Bozeman and DeFrance’s steady back line creates a head bobbing groove that gradually veers into a faster tempo.  This song will make you want to barrel down the road, while banging on a piano and raucously chanting along to the guys’ back up singing.  

The Hollow Legs decided to go analog with this song by recording on tape at MooseCat Recording.  The song really has a sort of retro 1970s vibe and Lingman’s vocals have a vintage growl that still maintains a soulful warmth and beauty.

Perhaps Kira is best summed up by music journalist and creator of Dirty Hippy Radio, Jeff Vincent, when he wrote: "While she does many different things — improvising southern country-fried, chicken-picking guitar solos, tapping percussion with her feet, blowing nasty harp with swampy comprehension, adding soft beauty to the facade before tearing it down and throwing it in your face with piercing vocals — the advent of Lingman does one general thing to a band: it brings a ton of soul.”

Witnessing Kira, Hugh (bass), and Zach (drums) play live is an experience not easily forgotten. Arresting, chaotic, beautiful, intense, sweet, and of course, soulful.
