"Young artist Charlotte de Witte continues to bolster a credible catalogue of tough, no-nonsense Techno with the introduction of her second solo EP for Tiga’s extolled Turbo Recordings. 

With a recent nod from Alan Fitzpatrick who included her Weltschmerz (Melodic Theme) in his recent Fabric mix she is an artist with a penchant for dark and moody atmospherics. Now - after her inclusion in the recent 12-track VA on Suara - the previously gold-selling Ghentian producer follows up her collaboration with Oscar & The Wolf and her first solo EP on London’s Bad Life with Sehnsucht: a bold four-track record packed with burly kick drums, steely synth tones and hypnotic vocal sampling primed for discerning big-room crowds. Also included in the package is a ruthless remix from Suara boss Coyu.

The title track is an apocalyptic march propelled by a purposeful kick and an unapologetic clap that keeps the pressure up throughout before ‘My Feeling’ lays a circling, hypnotic vocal over scuttling claps and luminous, flashing hi hats. 

Coyu then steps in with his take on ‘My Feeling’, pushing it into overdrive and marrying brash, white-noise snare drums with shuddering hats and vocal snippets. 

‘Enough’ then sets sharp drums knocking against cold and capacious textures before a disquieting and arresting vocal suffuses the track to stunning effect. ‘Den Ganzen Abend’ then brings the record to a sinister close as a pellucid German vocal sample is set creeping over an ineffably weighty low-end sitting it comfortably on the floor of Berghain and capping off another coup for a consistently reliable label and an artist firmly on her ascent."

"Sehnsucht describes a deep emotional state and is translated as 'longing', 'pining', 'yearning', or 'craving' or in a wider sense a type of 'intensely missing'. It represents thoughts and feelings about all facets of life that are unfinished or imperfect, paired with a yearning for ideal alternative experiences."

Roberto Capuano returns with his first Drumcode EP since 2015.

The Neapolitan has long occupied a special place in the heart of Adam Beyer. His cut ‘Never Stop’ is one of the finest Truesoul releases in recent years and he came up trumps with Drumcode’s 150th release in 2015 with ‘The Wilford’ EP, featuring the dub techno groover ‘Obsessed’. His last outing on Drumcode was the fantastic ‘Limitless’, a collaboration with Luigi Madonna that featured on A-Sides Vol.6 in 2017.

‘The Walker EP’ is Capuano’s most full-bodied work on Drumcode to date. The title track is a stealth combination of punishing drums and dystopian arpeggios building up a dark brew of energy. ‘Segment’ is a flamboyant follower, all six minutes of spine-tingling synth stabs and chopped up vocal effects perfect for peak time moments. ‘On Your Skin’ is no less captivating, a huge Beyer favourite throughout the summer months, its exhilarating combination of rousing vocal, swirling synths and catchy riff make it a slam dunk. The slick ‘Sirio’ concludes the quadruplet of cuts, as stomping grooves rub shoulders with multi-layered melody lines for a satisfying finish.

ANNA drops a triple dose of heat to mark her first EP on Drumcode.

ANNA first debuted on Drumcode with the irresistible groover ‘Portable Paradise’, which highlighted last year’s A-Sides Vol.7 and set up a busy year playing DC events in 2019. There was the memorable morning set at Space during WMC, two fiery gigs at Drumcode Festival and typically strong performances at the DC takeover at Resistance in Ibiza and Sonar. Fresh from her gargantuan collaboration with Kittin ‘Forever Ravers’, she steps up for a maiden EP on Adam Beyer’s flagship label.

‘Galactic Highways’ is propelled by an arresting peak-time riff and bombastic drums and was a storming addition to Beyer’s set at Drumcode Halloween recently. ‘Dimensions’ is the powerful brain scrambler, as a blistering wall of acid rubs shoulders with undulating bass notes for a dramatic finish. ‘Phase Two’ is a stirring, pad-laden beauty, driven by lustrous melody lines that cascade over the Brazilian’s punchy percussion.

During the last 12 months Squire, aka Jaime Aguersuari, claimed his place on the scene with a string of high-quality productions on Mobilee, Get Physical, trueColors and more. The year ahead looks even brighter, with several releases lined up on high profile labels and an upcoming remix for Rodriguez Jr.

Squire approaches music with a full heart and intent focus just as he approaches everything else he does, from his previous years at Formula One, his Bridges for Music Paris to Amsterdam bike ride, or his recent desert track ride through the Sahara.

As a label, Mobilee is renowned for tracks that shake off the shackles of genre expectation to stand in their own right as exceptional cuts, and this latest release from an artist with the same ethos is a perfect match for the imprint.

The title track is an exotic 7 minute excursion, with a compelling build that rises to a sensual snake charmer-esque top line. With summer around the corner, this has got ‘special sunrise terrace moment’ written all over it.  

Things take a darker, faster turn in the B side. ‘Troupe’ is an enticing slice of house fringed with acid and atmospheric synths. Shimmering percussion gives the track a disco edge. Its audacious range of sound is quintessentially Squire.

Cosmic Boys are back with a new EP on their label @legendaudio that features two new tracks in their hard-hitting style of peak time techno made for the dance floor.

The guys last EP picked up support from the likes of Adam Beyer, Pappenheimer and Roberto Capuano amongst many others, and the tracks are both charted inside of Beatport’s Top 100.

Many will also be familiar with the Cosmic Boys recent collaboration with UMEK on his label 1605, along with their contributions to Richie Hawtin’s iconic Minus.

Based in France, the duo’s new release features two original tracks that blend chunky percussion with high velocity rhythm and spine-tingling synth lines.

The EP’s title track “Digital Love” opens the release with dramatic bursts of explosive synths that spring forth to create a dramatic tension. Building towards the twisted euphoria and suspense of the main breakdown, the intensity is unrelenting as the kick drum thunders back in to create a drop of epic proportions.

Second of the two originals “Timeless” is equally ferocious with a compelling energy that is out of this world. Combining a throbbing bassline and high velocity lead synth the “how to release the pressure” vocal is perfectly suited to the onslaught of pent up energy this track unleashes when played at maximum volume, as it’s guaranteed to create a frenzy of excited dancing.

Cologne-based Patrik broke into the scene back in 2010 with his unique spin on techno. Signed to a number of top dance labels including Intec and Filth On Acid, he describes his sound as something which can make people dance. “His raw sound with emotional melodies and deep lyrics really touched me when I listened to it.” Monica said. 

The latest EP ‘Like Forever’ combines trance like melodies, growling FX and warehouse drums in a soulful meleé of emotive mind music. Tribal rhythms, spoken word vocals and splashy percussive underbelly complete the picture. 

Monika adds her magic touch to the remix of the lead track, teasing out the main motifs and injecting a large dose of her own personality. ‘Hope’ is a whirlwind of arps and kettledrum kicks that create a wildly expansive soundscape that hypnotises you by stealth.
