The original was such an important moment because it’s largely considered as the beginning of LGBT awareness in pop music.
I love that this song sparked countless stories of people opening their eyes to their own sexual desires.
I also love that the conversation has deepened so much since then and we don’t need to discuss bisexuality in such an apprehensive way, which was a big part of my own desire to do a softer, more comfortable, inviting version. “ - GEM
