Hey America, Please Don't Make The Same Mistake As Us!

My two cents (and then some!) about Brexit, Trump and the state of the world - not to mention my own state of mind.

No Sea Change?

Yup, I'm back on my soapbox. More therapy through poetry, my way of dealing with the madness of it all. This new one is on the December 2019 UK election campaign. It's finally 'oven ready'!

Bread And Circuses

My first poem on Brexit, recorded on 20 June 2016, three days before the referendum. Listening again is like stepping into a little time capsule: references to the football hooliganism in Marseilles, the Queen's 90th birthday, the tragic murder of Jo Cox. Dreading the result. And remembering that already we were sick of talking about Brexit. Little did we know what was to come.

This is a live recording (and shorter version!) of 'No Sea Change?' that I performed at New River Studios in North London on 28 March 2019, the night before the UK's long awaited original departure date from the EU. It was part of an event called 'Leave Eve', later re-dubbed 'Reprieve Eve' by John Doran, organiser of the evening. Ultimately it would prove to be a temporary stay of execution, but it really did feel like Hope at the time.
