The examples here show the different characteristics each microphone has on a select velocity, within each tuning range. Firstly all microphones, followed by the isolated overhead, snare bottom and snare top.

The full pack includes 120 royalty free one-shot samples of a great 14”x5.5” Black Walnut stave snare drum collection; in 3 different tunings with 5 varying velocities.

Recorded in 44.1khz/24 bit using Focusrite Clarett preamps and the following microphones:

Se Electronics V7X - Snare Top
Shure SM57 - Snare Bottom
AKG c414 - Overhead

With samples of the above mic placements and a level mix of all three, this pack includes 60 unprocessed raw one shot samples in a .wav format.On top of this, these 60 samples have been lightly processed using the Focusrite Red 2 EQ and Red 3 Compressor plugins.

All individual microphone samples have been trimmed to its transient.

All samples are organised into folders based on its tuning. Each file is named based on its microphone placement or combination (all), processing (compressed) and numbered accordingly by increased velocity (1-5).
