Common Sense: Do You Feel Guilty About The Homeless? False Guilt and How to Help in Meaningful Ways

Insisting that others clean up after you and pay for the trauma that you create is surely NOT an act of love but is both immoral and wicked.  More often than not, the destruction caused by homelessness has an enormous negative impact on good, law abiding citizens and the environment.  Not only is it unloving, but accommodating such behavior is teaching irresponsibility. In this video Brian suggests that supporting a person’s right to remain homeless is unloving to society, to our environment, and to the homeless themselves.

Additionally they admit that they can’t really report on how the homeless have benefited in any substantial way since, according to one California Senator Dave Cortese, what they have presented is a “data desert” showing an unsettling lack of transparency at every level. Episode 59: California Spendin' - $24 Billion In Tax Dollars Wasted Tackling the Homeless Crisis

The world right now is full of “Geshems” (the Hebrew is Gashmu).  Individuals whose names will be remembered for trying to mischaracterize the work of God’s people with the intent of stopping God’s purposes.  It’s one of the oldest tricks in the book.  They try to entice Christians into meetings and conversations for the sake of interrupting the work that they’ve been called to and to do them harm.  But now is a time for good leadership and good leaders stay steady at the tasks that God has called them to.  Like Nehemiah, good leaders ignore the Geshems of the world.
