I wrote this song in remembrance for someone who passed away. He had an amazing spirit, and was an honest and charismatic individual. Rest in Peace, Joey. We miss you!

He went off to Afghanistan, and this song was inspiration to keep him fighting  the war within himself, all of the battles and hardships he faced in life. This is a ballad I wrote for my best friend, now husband. At the time when I wrote this song, we were friends, but I was wanting more. He was still getting over a prior relationship and we were both afraid to take it to that next step for fear of losing our friendship. We have come a long way since then. I love you Dustin, so much. When you start a relationship, it has it's up and downs. But your are in it for the long haul. This song portrays the light at the START of the tunnel. The ride has it's "ups" and "downs," but ultimately, you see the light at the end of the tunnel. And when you see it, you can never go back. You become a different person, you start living for today, and let the past drift away. So keep on living, keep on staying strong, you will make it through.  Let go of your past, and stay true to you!
