This song is dedicated to my grandpa Lewis. Who bought me my first beat-up Telluride acoustic guitar and taught me all his favorite oldies. My grandpa struggled with dementia at the end of his life, barely able to speak or interact with the world around him, but I will always remember how his eyes lit up to the sound of music during our final visit together. How he began to sing Johnny Cash with me. How happy a few sad songs could make us at that moment together. We all wish we had more time with the ones we love, one more hug, or a simple conversation.
