You guessed it, this is a love song and also the first song I ever wrote about my first "love" at 14. It also was the first original song I performed publicly and now one of the first songs I ever recorded.

Fun Fact: White Earth is the name of a lake in MInnesota, where this song takes place.


WHITE EARTH

This song I wrote in high school when I was about 15 years old when I was going through some major scheiBe with toxic and unhealthy friendships. I was on a competition dance team and we have this cheer when we would all circle up and clap "Little Susie Sally walk-ah-down the street. She didn't have a partner 'til she came on up to me and said 'Hey Girl, do your thing do your thing and switch..'"

So I used those moments and the cheer as a kind of sarcastic blues song, if you will. And basically I just wanted to say "F**k you" as 'cool' as I could.

SUSIE SALLY

I wrote this song two days before I recorded it. It was not suppose to be on my EP. In fact, I only took two takes and decided that I was done. Well, I certainly am thrilled it made on the EP because it seems to be everyone's favorite.

The meaning to me behind this is song when I wrote it was to be a lullaby, of sorts, to myself. Those moments or days that are so shitty you HAVE to daydream or go somewhere else before you off yourself. I choose to think of moments of pure, unadulterated happiness: looking at the love of your life on your wedding day, staring at your daughter, or going to Neverland...all things I've thought about since I was a child. 

It's about needing to see the future to prove there's something still worth fighting for.

or it could just be another melodramatic, sad song about being shit on by the world.
