i had fun making a couple flips out of the okra vocals. this first one i made a dance beat with some wonky chords and stretched the vocals and i loved how it gave this wild rhythmic feel to the track.

this started as just a fun beat experimenting with some granular delay then i ended up makin the little beat switch and thought it would be fun to put the other half of the vocals from Okra i didnt use and i really liked how it sounded so i just made two flips out of it!

Okra Flip Part 2

i had so much fun makin this little track it started with the actual beat that i put the missy vocals over i was so hype on that and i thought that it would be super fun to put missy vocals over it. once i had that i was like well i need kind of a start and an end, but i wanted to try something totally different so i made two completely different style beats and affected them to put them in a different space so it felt like a separate scene or scenario. i was stoked on how i got them to transition from one to the next cause transitions are hard.

missy elliot flip

made this kind of fun dance beat with this kinda wonky arp and put the vocals from wesleys theory over it and kinda liked how it gave it this slightly disorienting feeling. Also had fun making some of the drum sounds from scratch which i dont do a ton of.

wesley's theory nink flip

made two flips out of wesleys theory by kendrick lamar, I put more vocals over this crazy granular sound I made and then warped using this shaper tool to give it rhythm and really liked kinda just making everything sound real distorted and blown out almost, also always fun to stretch vocals

had fun challengin myself fliping this song by Ravyn Lenae which is oringally in like a super wierd time siganature, not really sure what it is honestly cause it feels like the drums are in six, but the guitar and vocals have this really cool phrasing, its a really chill and pretty song. It was fun to really try and change it into this more distorted chaotic form.

startin off 2024 strong cranked out this flip in just 3 short days, its always fun when and idea comes together really quickly. turned the city by the 1975 into a fun kind of spacey trapy remix.

the last of the three fun flips of the 1975 flips i made at the start of the year. overall had fun challenging myself and trying new production techniques when i made these, had a fun envelope follower mapped to the dry/wet of some heavy saturation on the master bus.
