fakeSID is an app that emulates the C64 SID chip. I made some music on my phone whilst I was on a trip.

Son Zept - “Northern Ireland’s resident electronic compositional polymath” (The Quietus) - debuts on Analogical Force with a 5 track EP. “New Ireland Chrome” comes from the soundtracking of an imagined futurist Ireland. Mutant joyriders in souped-up DeLoreans and Honda civics, street Hurling players with cybernetic counterfeit Adidas limbs, cheap synthetic Guinness is sold to the lower class while the real stuff is hoarded by a neo-gaelic artistocracts. A country divided by Tayto tribalism and destroyed by emerald acid rain. This EP is an inventive genremash of rave, braindance, acid, ambient, grime and other difficult to describe soundworlds. Artwork comes from Geometric Love, UK.

It's fair to say Malta's Sound Synthesis is associated with spacey, acid-flecked electro. But here, on his first album for Gated, a deep vein of old-school influenced breaks comes to the fore.

The infectious acid lines are ever-present - the hands-in-the-air breakdowns, the rolling basslines - but this is a different side to Keith Farrugia's prolific output that brings in influences from ambient to downtempo to bassbin-worrying bangers.

“Zweven is Leven” is a phrase Floris always used to say 👄 And also his lifestyle. As he floated al over the world and never found his peace until his decision to leave this world and float further into the afterlife! The track is sad but hopeful and uplifting at same time I think. My favourite part is here the brass flutes and communicating with each other and the low flute telling the high flute it’s going to be alright! A celebration of good friendships who never end even after death. R.I.P to als the good friends that have left the world earlier 👻
