A multi-disciplinary who pulls influence from a boundless range of genres and cultures, B4MBA’s (@b4mba ) music manages to avoid category whilst presenting a sound that is distinctly his. A Senegalese father and Spanish mother provided him with ample source material in formative years. Since then anything from video game soundtracks to A Tribe Called Quest have worked to fuel his creative outlook. “I cross borders, visiting genres like countries, always seeking to blend a new culture with the one I already have”.

He is also part of @jokkoocloud :

“Jokkoo is an artistic musical collective from Barcelona, which was created four years ago with the intention and the need to investigate and spread the most contemporary electronic sounds and the experimental and alternative scene of the African continent and its diaspora. The absence of these sounds and currents in local events and clubs on the European circuit led us as a collective to create connections and spaces where non-hegemonic musical aesthetics are put at the center.”

“We have worked in clubs and venues such as Razzmatazz, Apolo, Sala Vol, etc. At music festivals such as the Nyege Nyege, Periferias in Huesca or the Archipiélago Festival in Madrid. Likewise, we have collaborated with cultural institutions such as the Macba, the Sant Agustí Convent, the Reina Sofía Museum, La Casa Encendida or the Bordeaux Museum of Contemporary Art.
The collective, which currently has six members, is made up of Maguette Dieng (Mbodj) Baba Sy, Oscar Taylor (Opoku), Nicolas Beliot (Mookie), Ismaël N’diaye (B4mba) and their most recent addition, Miriam Camara (TNTC). Six distinct personalities with the common goal of establishing black electronic hybrid music and diasporic narratives in the global music community.”

Back on our Radio 80000 takeover with a mix by Chananja and Tember. The sonic fusion of two worlds. While Tember goes pluckily from erratic polyrhythms to freak folk or east coast club music, Chananja draws inspiration from delicacy and chaos to craft intricate sonic worlds, taking listeners on a journey from noise to poetry, broken beats to experimental folk.

Together they created a mix exploring the in-between of experimental forms of sound and music.

"The mix is caracterized by Vivaldi’s seminal ‘Four Seasons’ where every cycle starts with one of Vivaldi’s pieces and could be looped afterwards to start a new year. In this mix we traverse through freak folk, plainchant, noise, modern club, avant-garde vocalists, broken beats and anything that reminds us of a time or season.'"

Expect nothing less than the unexpected.

From the Midwest and now based in New Jersey, Love Higher is an emerging DJ and producer creating multi-genre experiences that tap into high-energy worldbuilding. Their sound blends a range of Hard Drum, Baile Funk, Footwork, Ghetto Tech, Techno, and more. They are the co-founder of VRRG, an online writing platform and is a part of Blessed Up Gang, a Black DJ crew based in Columbus, OH that throws quarterly dance parties focusing on the dynamics of club music. 

Notes on the Mix ///
"I wanted to create a mix that was both fun, hard and on the other hand, expansive and heartfelt. I like playing between moments of tension or building up towards a climatic moment. I do end the mix with a few favorite songs I have on repeat. And yeah, you can see  my love for percussive techno tracks into juke, or breaks. Also for this mix specifically, I was sourcing music in my collection I’ve overlooked the past two years and brought them back to front of mind, showing that my interests in music overtime is similar. Which is very, very exciting."
