Love One Another

The first movement of a beautiful violin duet by F. Mazas, renowned for his Etudes Especiales.  While somewhat short in length, Mazas does follow the standard Sonata-Allegro form for this first movement

This is an arrangement of portions of the William Tell Overture, arranged for string quartet.  The opening portion of this arrangement has been used as a theme for sunrises and early mornings in cartoons, and the last portion is the famous theme from The Lone Ranger.

William Tell Overture: Arranged for String Quartet

This piece is an original work I've been writing for the Park City High School's orchestra program.  It's in a late Classical/early Romantic style.  Filled with lots of emotion, this piece starts with a brooding opening that turns light and playful.  It soon turns dark and foreboding, and then becomes maniacally angry.

The Lord is My Shepherd

A string quartet arrangement of "The Infernal Gallop," otherwise know as "The Can-Can" from Jacques Offenbach's Operetta "Orpheus in the Underworld."  This opera pokes fun at Opera in general, and the classic opera "Orfeo et Euredice" in particular.  In the original greek tragedy, Orpheus must play beautiful music to appease the Furies and Hades himself.  The "Infernal Gallop" is meant to be this "beautiful" music.

The Infernal Gallop (The Can-Can) from "Orpheus in the Underworld"

One of 15 2-part inventions by Johann Sebastian Bach.  Inventions are  short contrapuntal pieces often made as exercises for piano students.  J.S. Bach is considered to be the master of counterpoint.  Bach is the man!

This recording was not a live performance, but was made using a MIDI file imported into recording software that was able to simulate the sound of a piano.
