No Hereos Anymore

Deep blue  eyes full of tears were staring at him. "Ja tebja ljublju" she said, then she pulled the trigger. He did not know what the girl had said to him. Did not know the words or the language. He saved her from the angels, took her away from the dark tower, away from the torture rooms. A Moment later she took that gun out of his backpack and pulled it on her chest. He did not know what she had to go through, what she had to see inside that building. He stared at her for a long time, still not knowing what she had said to him. That he took his gun out of her hands and pushed it into his pocket. Three more shots left. Just three shots and some angels were coming after him.

Days in Paradise

The old man looked to the snowfields infront of him.
So many miles to walk, so many miles he was on his feet alone.
He remembered Sabatinas Face, her smile. Her childish laughing, even in ruins or burned batteflield. She filled his heart with  the will to fight. Then she went away. He doesn't know why. He woke up and she was gone. On the last days of last summer.
With tears in his eyes he startet to walk again.

Last Summer

He woke up.
In the first moment he did not really understand where he was or what he is doing here. He dreamed so many terrible things. Dreamed from Babylon, from the last days and what he had lost there.
Slowly remembering his situation he thought about what to do now.
Escape. Run away. Were the first thoughts.
But there was no way. He has to go this path, back to Babylon. Fighting the Angels.

Sabbatina looked down into the dirty water on the floor.
She saw herself blurred by little waves. When did she see herself the last time in a mirror? Was is before the war? She could not remember.
Her gaze went high and she could see the ruins all around.
How many people have lived here? How many dreams have died here? Yesterday, so many people were here. Laughing, loving, dreaming. No one is left. She thought about her own yesterday, of what is lost and what is found. Her yesterday, and her dreams she doesn't remember anymore.

Yesterday, a Dream I don't remember

Sabbatina looked behind.
She has lost the old man in the caves when she had to run.
Without knowing where to run she just followed her instinct. Listened to the echoes of her steps. Listenend to her beating heart. Tried to find her way with trembling fingers.
They hoped to find the resistance here. Hoped to find a shelter. Just for one night.
All hope seems gone now. Alone in the darkness.
Her dreams, her hopes, just the little ones... Gone and shattered in just a few moments.
Without the will to go on she felt on her knees and closed her eyes. Tears running down her cheeks.
And her heaven seems so unbelievable far away.

Days and Nights passed on their way through the Wastelands.
Always on the Run away. Away from their Nightmares. Away from Babylon. And away from the Angels.
It was their Dream to find Salvation in Babylon. Find their Messiah.
But there was nothing. Just the Dead waited for them. So many of them.
So many men and women with so many dreams. So many obliterated Dreams.

Obliterated Dreams

The last days her dreams were strange.
She dreamt of the messiah, of her Hope and her Salvation.
But every time there were screams all around.
Every morning she woke up, blood in her mouth and wet of sweat all over her body.
Every evening she cries, does not want to fall asleep. To dream that way.
Every evening she falls asleep. Dreaming that way. Dreams of Heresy.

Dreams Of Heresy

He had to look twice but he still could not believe what he could see.
A beautyful landscape, full of green, trees and flowers.
At one of the trees fairies were dancing. Dancing and laughing. One large was is the midst of them. Her face looked like Sabbatinas. He felt tears in his eyes, was overwhelmed by his feelings. A place of true peace and freedom.
Something woke him from his dreams. He could hear footsteps near to him.
He looked around, saw the burned ruins and started to look for a place to hide.

Fairies

The old man remembered.
The people were agitated when they heard from the angels. So many have come to see them. To see how they descent from the heaven.
Religios fanatics, priests, believers, normal people... They all have come to meet their deliverance. The old man was far away, he doubted in all of this. But he wanted to see it too.
Then they came. No fanfares, no golden shine, no announcement. The dying began.
He turned away and started to run. Behind his back just the roar of the so called angels and the screams of the dying crowd.
