Five years after ‘You Get Bun’ was produced it’s finally seeing the light of day due to some shrewd A&R. From its initial hype in 2015 across the Rinse FM airwaves from shows like Butterz (Flava D) giving it airtime and its circulation from radio rips online as a result, it had a planned release but unfortunately never happened. Some five years later its once bold spark as a dub reignited on socials again after the radio rips resurfaced across socials for it to be picked up and signed by 1Forty.

Fish & Sherry S hail from Bristol, which, when you hear any of their productions or DJ sets, probably won’t come as much of a surprise. The duo’s signature sound is a genre-hopping mix of Bassline, Dubstep, and just about anything that falls under the umbrella of ‘UK bass’ music. It’s a sound that characterises their records for mainstay underground labels they’ve signed to like Bingo Bass (DJ Zinc), Roska Kicks & Snares, Tumble Audio, Four40 and of course their very own Cocobolo Sound, that’s manifested in full glory during their high-energy DJ performances.

Fish was last seen on the label in early 2019 after smashing 2018 out the park with Sherry after appearances at the likes of Banghai Towers at Boomtown and Outlook Festival amongst strong label releases. His first track signed to 1Forty in April 2019 was entitled ‘Mad’ putting the signature sound associated with the duo, on Capo Lee and D Double E’s hook for a giveaway, however that was a solo release making this Sherry S’s first appearance on the label. Since Fish’s debut the pair have gone on to become Fabric residents, announced shortly after the release of ‘Mad’. Cocobolo Sound was their label venture announced a few months later making 2019 a stellar year.

2020 started off with a bang as they recorded a massive Redbull Choice mix putting a practically unheard of 150 tracks in 25 minutes before the pandemic hit, allowing them to shift their focus toward the Cocobolo Sound project seeing releases from some of Bristols brightest up and coming talent as well as their own work, making ‘You Get Bun’ their first release away from their own imprint this year.
