The “Alabama Song” was written in English on Bertolt Brecht’s behalf by his close collaborator Elisabeth Hauptmann before 1925 and published in Brecht’s 1927 Hauspostille (Home Postil), a parody of a collection of sermons by Martin Luther. Brecht and Weill’s version of the song was first performed by the Viennese actress and dancer Lotte Lenya.

ALABAMA SONG (Whiskey Bar)

This song gives its title to the whole album and is the result of a beautiful collaboration. I produced the track and played all the instruments, except for the drums, which were recorded by my great friend and accomplished drummer, Maver Mariani. The song features Mimi on vocals, who did an amazing job with her marvelous voice.
