Had a recording studio in the 80s with a Prophet 5- however life interfered along the way and have been recording for over a year now with my Prophet Rev2, Roland DS, Novation Impulse and a couple of Yamahas. At this point I'm working on creating unique and interesting sounds for my pleasure and hopefully yours. I appreciate any feedback, even negative, as I am learning recording and mixing and people's insights help me be a better musician/producer.

My roots are the 50s, 60s, 70s and even some 80s. That was the Golden Age of popular music. Seems like record companies were only interested in making money instead of presenting great music which would have made even more money. I kinda doubt that musicians had less quality material, although the rock scene had virtually explored every avenue seemingly possible.
I realize my music is far from my roots.  I am only interested in exploring new combos of sounds that are only possible to do efficiently. The democratization of the music business comes only on the heels of making good equipment available cheaply so anyone with a few thousand can produce material that anyone can have access. I figure my home studio costs roughly 5.000 plus a room in our house.  I'll be adding more at some point when I have mastered what I have and see the need for more equipment. Unfortunately I live so rural, that the only way I can review new equipment is on the web and luckily most of the suppliers will let you demo most equipment and instruments for at least 30 days.  I use Sweetwater primarily because their service is truly exceptional.  I miss the days when I could go to a music supplier and play as many instruments as I wanted. Those days are gone...
