Why We Ever

WHY WE EVER • hayley williams cover

I had the nice, very nice opportunity to attend a weeklong workshop with the musician, artist and composer Maïa Blondeau in September 2024. 
In this workshop I composed music for a film extract of one of my favorite movies. Paris, Texas from Wim Wenders. 

I share the music part here because I really love it myself and I hope you do too (and also hope Wim would do too and would want to use it in his movie haha)

In this workshop I also composed music for a painting that I love from Kandinsky in his early years 
I never thought I would ever make a technoisch song haha, but I feel super proud of this one; even though it still feels unfinished to me 

I hope you enjoy it and that the music I composed resonates with the painting

a song I created for a dance performance "KABAR ANGIN" co-created with ianthe van der pol, as an ode to all the witches, the queers, the glitches through history and to reclaim them. with love, a bit of gentleness anger crack wet

how grateful I am that I sung an original creation with this bunch of lovely crazy humans in Brussels, for hundreds of people.  
As a (very) happy member of the Antwerp Queer Choir, I had the opportunity to write a song for us, a song about us, as a choir, as a community, as queer people, as human beings. A song about healing together. Even if we are all different in our differences. About trying to heal, because it is so important to be surrounded, to be treated with care, to treat with care, with love, to take time, to go slow. About anger when one is not caring, the/our misuse of power that ends up oppressing.
I hope the lyrics and our voices resonate within you,
