C4L Manager and podcast host Malik Zeniti welcomes Danilo D’Aversa, General Manager at Gulliver to talk about digital transformation in logistics, scaling up and going international from Luxembourg, and plans for the future.
Created 20 years ago in Italy, Gulliver is a software company, focused on mobile and web development, that opened a subsidiary in Luxembourg in 2022 to expand beyond the Italian market. Passing through the smartphone, they digitalize the processes inside companies and one of their key targets is the logistics sector for which they developed the G-Transport solution.
Danilo explains why logistics companies are their target customers and why digitalization and smartphone use is a must in the sector. According to Danilo, a company that needs a digital strategy cannot ignore the smartphone. Gulliver’s mantra is: “There is no digital strategy without the smartphone.”
Danilo explains the advantages of their G-transport solution and highlights that newly added features address problems voiced by the market: “The market is our main driver for the decision-making process and for the evolution of the solution and diffusion.”
Since AI is a hot topic, the episode includes a reflection on AI and whether Gulliver feels threatened by fast-growing newcomers. 
Scaling up and going international from Luxembourg: Danilo explains why Gulliver chose Luxembourg to grow their business beyond Italy.

The importance of vaccines and their distribution during a pandemic

B_Medical Systems (BMS)  is a manufacturer in the north of Luxembourg and global distributor of medical refrigeration devices for vaccines and blood, capable of cooling to - 80 deg. C. The company is in the spotlight as it supports the current need of ultra-low temperature freezers needed for mRNA COVID-19 vaccines from BioNTech /Pfizer. The former medical division of the household appliance group Electrolux now employs 240 fixed employees plus 70 part-time workers in Luxembourg. It keeps expanding into new products and innovating, with a recent joint venture in the US and manufacturing plans for India.

Mit Peter Stadler haben wir einen erfahrenen Industrievertreter für diesen Podcast gewonnen, bis vor kurzem noch managing director bei Kronospan Luxemburg und von 40 Jahren deren 25 in Luxemburg tätig. Herr Stadler, stammt aus Salzburg, und war auch in Österreich bzw. in Polen bei der österreichischen Unternehmensgruppe Kronospan beschäftigt, die weltweit mit ca 14‘000 Mitarbeitern 4 Mrd. Euro in Holzprodukten wie Spanplatten oder Laminat umsetzt. 
Nach einer Einführung zum Werdegang des Salzburgers Peter Stadler, werden nachhaltige Projekte wie LEAN & GREEN angesprochen und der Industriestandort Luxemburg thematisiert.
„Jeder der in seiner Tätigkeit festgehangen ist, versucht es sich so einfach wie möglich zu machen. Mit einfachen Lösungen kann man aber keine Fortschritte erreichen!“ Das Projekt Lean and Green hilft eine Struktur zu geben, komplexer zu denken. „Wir müssen Lösungen finden Transporte anzuwenden die umweltfreundlicher sind und das Lean and Green hilft dabei.“ Mut zur Veränderung ist wichtig: „Jugendliche sollen wissen, dass man nicht das ganze Leben im selben Job ist.“

Ihssam Haiba, spécialiste dans le monde de la logistique et enseignant pour les techniciens en logistique au Luxembourg, nous donne un aperçu de sa carrière de logisticien dans le domaine du fret aérien ainsi que les domaines de travail variés et passionnants d'un logisticien. Outre de nombreuses anecdotes fascinantes de sa propre carrière dans le fret aérien, Ihssam explique ce que les jeunes étudiants peuvent attendre du programme de formation en DT logistique proposé dans deux écoles au Luxembourg, le Lycée Technique de Bonnevoie et le Lycée Technique de Lallange.
Avec sa manière ouverte et accessible, il nous raconte pourquoi il conseillerait à ce moment précis aux jeunes étudiants de faire carrière dans le domaine de la logistique et pourquoi la crise actuelle de COVID-19 présente à la logistique une toute nouvelle série de défis.
