This one was somewhat tough. Finding the right bassline was a painstaking trial & error. In the original version I had to make some messing with the volume levels but I caved in and just used another wave instead. Anyway, I think it came out really well!

Long time coming this one. It was fun to do, that echo effect especially, and thankfully not that hard.

Objection 2001 (PW:AA) | GBC 8-bit Demix

I had this music on my list for such a long time and for a good reason: the original uses taiko drums for its percussion, which I knew I had to emulate to make it feel authentic. Problem is, I didn't know how the noise channel worked. And now that have messed with it for hours... well... I believe it is nearly impossible to make something decent. I tried, and it sounds alright, but not really that close to the original.

The song is otherwise very simple so I think it turned out great. It uses instrumentation from the DS version instead of the original GBA, but I arranged the GBA tracks for simplicity. It's a nice compromise IMO.

The Steel Samurai ~Warrior of Neo Olde Tokyo~ (PW:AA) | GBC 8-bit Demix

This one was surprisingly difficult. The melody is just a constant buzzing pulse, which sounds quite unpleasant in the GB. I had to make some adjustments to reduce the problem, but it still managed to sneak in a bit. Otherwise, I think it's pretty cool :)

This one was surprisingly hard to do, considering it is literally 2 tracks. The problem was that the original song as a few extra tracks that don't sound too good in the GameBoy. So to keep it simple and in line with the Allegro version, this is what came out.

Boy, oh boy. This one was super tough. Trying to decide if the melody should be with the Wave or the Pulse channels was enough of a problem (I decided on the Wave eventually), but getting it sounding good was equally tough. I honestly think this was the one that translated the worst to the GB.

This song is pretty much the same as the normal Cornered, except for the "orchestra hit" style percussion. And oh boy, did it gave me trouble. It took various tries until I got these working properly. I did the best I could.

Maya Fey ~ Turnabout Sisters' Theme 2002 | GBC 8-bit Demix

I know this song has been demixed before, but I love it so much I just had to arrange it myself. I grabbed the GB Sounds version for this demix, which tries to be faithful to the original soundchip of the GameBoy; that said, I did add stereo, which was present in that version. It took a while adjusting all the little details, but the final product sounds really awesome. It's one of my favorite arrangements so far.

Friendly Shop (Pokémon HGSS) | GBC 8-bit Demix

This is a bit of an unusual one, a request by ciara, who asked me to arrange this song from the romhack Pokémon Altair and Sirius. The "original" song from that romhack is actually an arrangement from another song from the 5th anime movie titled "Mystery Girl, Again (Labyrinth)". I know absolutely nothing about either of those, so I came into this completely blind. Frankly, this melody is so damn catchy I was happy to arrange it after I heard it a few times. It actually works really well for as a town theme, so it's no surprise why they chose it in that romhack.

Thankfully it wasn't too hard. At first I hoped to have the wave channel as the lead, but unfortunately, the bass is too low for the pulse channels, so I had to switch those around. I think it came out pretty well.

Alto Mare (Pokémon  Altair & Sirius) | 8-bit GBC Demix

I've resisted covering this song for a long time since there are already so many amazing versions by other Gameboy arrangers. However, I decided I could give it my own spin and especially try to add in stereo in a natural way, to make it feel much more like the other Gen 2 songs. Also, some people kept asking me to cover it so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

At first I wanted to have the Wave channel covering the melody(making a parallel with Route 26, which has the same feeling as this song for me), but that quickly proved to be a bad idea for multiple reasons. So I caved in and had the Wave doing the bass.

I'll admit, right now, that I cheated a bit with this one; I had to make a custom wave. It's exactly the same as #6 (for the uninitiated, the one used in Cherrygrove City among others) but about 75% lower in volume. It just didn't sound right using the full volume or 50% for the whole song. If I really, really had to stick to the original Gen 2 waves, I'd use #5 instead(that's used in Goldenrod City for example), but I really prefer the sound of #6 for this song.

Other than that, I really had fun with the stereo with this one. I think it sounds really natural and adds something to the music that the GBSounds version doesn't have. Overall, it was a fun project that gave me a newfound appreciation for the song.

Route 47 ~ GBSounds (Pokémon HGSS) | 8-bit GBC Demix

This is one of my favorite songs in the series. It's based on an already amazing song in the original Azalea Town theme from Gen 2, but it actually manages to improve and expand upon it and making it superior in my opinion. I hope I managed to capture the feeling of the original remix while still feeling like an 8-bit song.
