Having released on cult favourites Toolroom, Sweat It Out, Glasgow Underground, and Be Yourself Music to name a few, Dutch rising-star Elliot Fitch has seen support from some of the biggest names in dance music. Next, he graces Kideko's Make 'Em Move imprint with 'Lift Me Up', a piano-house pumper reminiscent of 90s dancefloors featuring powerful vocal cuts and high-energy drum work. Big tune!

The sun’s out, Lockdown is lifting and we’re counting down the days until we can finally set foot in a club again. Toolroom on the other hand is making 2021 their own, kicking up the quality and consistency of the music by releasing banger after banger. The next record to drop is no exception to this and comes in the form of a surprising release from none other than Dave Spoon who makes his return to Toolroom 15 years later with the summer party anthem ‘Steels’.

A Toolroom veteran of 15 years and longstanding member of the #ToolroomFamily, Dave Spoon (aka Simon Neale, or the better-known Shadow Child) made his label debut way back in 2005 with his 21st Century EP. Having released an incredible amount of music during his time with Toolroom, he is most known for his massive 2006 hit ‘At Night’ which saw a huge level of physical sales and massive radio support. Eventually being reworked with So Solid Crew’s Lisa Maffia on vocals, turning into ‘Bad Girl (At Night)’. 

2012 onwards saw Simon shelve his Dave Spoon identity, creating the Shadow Child alter ego and his own Food Music record label. Having huge success with records such as 23, Climbing (Piano Weapon), Ooh Tune and his remix of AlunaGeorge – ‘Best Be Believing’. He is a prolific artist and producer in his own right, having remixed records from high-profile artists Robyn, Paul van Dyk & Dizzee Rascal. As well as scoring multiple hit records under the Shadow Child moniker, the time is right to bring the Dave Spoon pseudonym back online. Taking form of ‘Steels’, a refreshingly new, fiery and fun party record that you won’t be able to get out of your head.

Pacha is a lifestyle and entertainment brand which specializes in nightlife and has club franchises in a number of countries including Brazil, United States, Russia, Germany, England, Egypt, Portugal, Austria and several Spanish cities including Madrid, Valencia, Bilbao and Barcelona. 

The first Pacha club opened in the beach town of Sitges in 1967 and first expanded to Barcelona and the Catalan coast.
In Ibiza, Pacha opened a club in 1973, and then expanded into the hotel business with El Hotel Pacha.
The first Pacha club outside Spain opened in 1993 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Then in Munich in 2000. Pacha London opened in 2001 and closed in 2014.

Ricardo Urgell, born in Barcelona in 1937, is the founder of Grupo Pacha. He is the grandson of Modesto Urgell. When Urgell was twenty years old, he started a water-ski school in Sitges. 
He then opened his first bar ‘Tito’s’ in the same town. 
The name "Pachá came from a remark made by Marisa Cobos, Urgell's first wife, who told him that with the money he was going to earn, he would be living like a Pachá (an Arabian Prince). The first Pacha club was Pacha Sitges, which Urgell founded together with his brother Piti Urgell.

In 2002, the Spanish Government decided to award the Gold Medal of Merit for Tourism to Ricardo Urgell.
Pacha Ibiza opened in 1973 and is the earliest superclub in Ibiza. 
Built in Ses Feixes and facing Ibiza Town, Pacha was designed to resemble a farmhouse. The club was featured in the 2004 film It's All Gone Pete Tong and has capacity of 3,000. From 1998 to 2017, Pacha Ibiza was the venue for the DJ Awards.

So for episode 034 we had a lot of shouts after sharing the first disc on this compilation, which was the Jeremy Healy one. (Also excellent). But with so many requests it was time to get the Whitehead one up there, and after listening to again for the first time in over 10 years or so the memories of its brilliance came flooding back. It's a more soulful set with come epic vocal and feel good moments which made the mid to late 90's a much more enjoyable place to be.

So many stand out tracks but off the top of my head, Right and Exact, Tall and Handsome, Weekend, I Believe, Happiness and the highlight for me, the epic 'Sweetest Day of May' by Joe T. Vannelli Project. It's fantastically put together and a mix with truly belongs into the classic status. Whatever you're up to now Alistair... we salute you!

For many fans and connoisseurs, Carl Cox is Space Ibiza. His legendary nights at the club have always featured some of the most forward-thinking Techno on the island. A staple of the club scene for over two decades, Carl Cox provides a mix combining some of the hottest names in the underground scene with the very best of his Intec label artists.

Kevin Saunderson needs no introduction. Along with Juan Atkins and Derrick May, he can rightfully claim to be the originator of the Techno sound. Hailing from Detroit, Kevin is the man behind the classic Inner City tracks ‘Big Fun’ and ‘Good Life’. Besides, he runs the successful KMS label. His mix features classic tunes by artists of the likes of X-Press 2 and Paperclip People – as well as unreleased gems from the KMS family.

As head of Cr2 Records, MYNC has been responsible for discovering some of the biggest names in Dance music. Eric Prydz, Fedde Le Grand and Chuckie are some of the artists that have had Cr2 as their home over the last decade. A respected producer and remixer, MYNC has remixed the work of artists such as Azari & III, Nervo and Nile Rodgers.  A versatile DJ, MYNC has given us a mix of cutting-edge sounds that are currently being heard all over Ibiza with a few trademark curveballs thrown in.
