“Gassed Under Protection” is a survivor’s testimony set to sonic fire.

This is the true story of Jesse — the artist behind Silk & Circuitry — who was placed under a police protection order, only to be dropped into a men’s refuge operated by Greymouth Community Mental Health, where his abusive mother had already poisoned the well.

While unconscious in that refuge, Jesse was gassed with carbon monoxide from a heater and injected with methamphetamine — an act of violence he survived. The system swept it under the rug and called it psychosis, despite zero history, multiple prior psychiatric reports, and no criminal record. His diagnosis of ADHD was weaponized against him — proof enough, apparently, to silence and discredit him.

Years later, it happened again.
A social worker was sent to Jesse’s house, again after contact with his mother. The result? Escalation, gaslighting, and punishment. The same cycle, rebooted.

Jesse has never sold his medication. He’s never touched meth. But somehow, his mother’s lies became gospel within a broken mental health system that refused to protect the very person it labeled “at risk.”

He had to threaten self-immolation just to access basic antibiotics for long-term blood poisoning. Instead of treatment, he was diagnosed with narcolepsy — again, based on fabricated suspicion, not facts.

This song is not a metaphor.
This is medical abuse, systemic failure, and the deliberate erasure of a survivor’s voice.

And now that voice has become a weapon.

Dark, radiant, and transcendent. Afterlight is melodic techno reimagined as rebirth — the moment where shadow turns to pulse and energy finds form. It opens in a slow, suspended haze, then ignites into a luminous surge of rhythm and emotion. Every sound is sculpted from scratch — deep-core bass, breathing synths, and glimmering textures that feel both human and futuristic.

Designed for peak-hour floors and introspective nights alike, the track carries a cinematic arc: tension → ignition → release → afterglow. Metallic percussion drives beneath a glowing melodic spine, resolving into calm clarity before fading into silence.

Intent: a passage through intensity into illumination. Afterlight is not only a track — it’s a state of becoming.

Chapter I — Fracture & Form
Afterlight is the turning point of Chapter I — the moment the system stops fighting the dark and starts shaping it. Following the raw instinct of Basic Instinct and the descent of Nightmare, this track is where memory, light, and architecture begin to align. From here the story moves into forging identity (Hexforge), testing it under pressure (Crossfire), and sealing it with a final vow in Never Look Back.
