The other half planned on doing a tiktok of our chickens eating the flesh of this pumpkin, but like many things, we didn't get around to finishing it. I knocked this track up for the soundtrack so thought might as well post it. The idea was to start it nice and pleasant sounding and gradually get more and more unsettling!

One of nearly 30 songs I've been working on, all broadly around somewhat satirical, cynical observations I've made about human behaviour and conventions, as things appear in Essex, UK in the mid 2020s. This track was inspired by a couple of people I've been aware of/ told about. Needs a final mix.

This is one of a number of songs I have written on the general themes of how people can become slaves to societal conventions, capitalism and the consumerist world we inhabit. Couples who no longer talk on any deeper level; people trying to fill the void of their life seeming meaningless by buying things; relationships that survive more out of convenience and to keep up appearances, avoiding others judgement that you'll be a 'left on the shelf single weirdo. ' 

It's a great party record, believe me. 

I don't know I'm necessarily right - it's just how I see things through observation and filling in the blanks.

Before I get back to finishing work on the album this is another example of a track from forthcoming album 'Regular fit' by my side project 'Bin day!' (which is again just me, but having a venture into some song writing for a change). The album is somewhat cynical but meant with a sprinkle of humour. This track lyrically was inspired by some ex-colleagues from the civil service who were very adept at appearing busy, shall we say. Still a guide vocal and I may tweak the mix, but

A happy little number about the challenges of functioning in everyday life when you have a weakness for overdoing the alcohol, and the resulting guilt that arises while recovering. 
Also a phrase I use e.g. when you have to go to a social event you don't want to or find boring,  or need to kill some time  - 'just drink through it' and it'll pass in a haze.

Cats on drugs man! Before any animal rights people (good on you by the way) get angry, they are not really on drugs and this cat is our cat and he's just a doofus and looks like that. A novelty joke track.

About addiction to keeping up with 'the news' even though it is mostly negative and can impact mental health. I sampled the news clips at random while working on the track. No disrespect meant to anyone and in the unlikely event someone hears themselves and objects, I'll happily take out that sample. Thank you.

A very simple repeating lyric; this is a mash up of alternative rock and dance music. I used a clip from YouTube for the sample. It's from a 'delivery driver fails caught on ring doorbells' thang. No disrespect to the guy involved but that's a very sample-able voice! I just thought it somehow fits, (as he's trying to do a good job but slips on the ice again, the way a job can be bruising) and lightened the mood.

A track about people not understanding how or why you gave up the rat race. Inspired by my perception that some people have been so socialised and conditioned to be 'an employee', that they can't imagine how they would fill their days or keep functioning without a job, this side of 'retirement'.

Started as a drummer but then they let me get hold of some other instruments. One man band composing and recording at home; styles (roughly) include post-rock/electronic/acoustic/ambient/experimental. 
Song-based project titled 'Bin day!' coming in 2025 with the album 'Regular fit.' I'm not entirely sure if 'socio-critical' is the right term, but it explores themes of social conventions and norms, how habits and customs seem to unconsciously change as we age. I take a swipe at myself too and there's a dash of humour!
