Another track from the Mike Fox and Gaz Brownie stable , if you haven't checked out Gaz yet , please do , there's a rawness and quality to his voice that's a winner every time ! This song has trusty Greg Willis on Sax , really works ! On the 8th of April is a Country song by myself and Tony Harris , and another by us on the 22nd . Once again, I realised the monthly @themusicollective playlist was almost upon me, so tried to quickly cobble together a song. The bulk of this (including verse 3, 4 and the chorus) originates from a songwriting challenge (of writing a verse or chorus a day for a month) I did during the lockdown, and I just added verse 1 and 2 this morning. Somehow turned into a song somehow dealing with anxiety and somewhat influenced by the current heatwave. Oh, and musically I stole the riff I figured out for Jolene!

Monday morning pries your eyelids open with a cheeky grin
And without warning anxiety tries to start its quest of creeping in

The battle of torture and fun begins to tickle your feet

This song is the brainchild of Artur, who composed it on his guitar perfectly for collaboration, and presented it to us with his vision for the entire sound. Ken went first, of course, adding his signature rocking beat to the song. Josh went next, as soon as Ken had laid down the drums, adding his four string fretless bass sound to fill out the rhythm section. 
  Tez came along soon after, adding some foundational ornamentation with his guitar. JJ jumped in right after Tez, and laid in the majestic organ, riffing electric piano, and subtle synth you hear throughout. Finally, Stephen laid his guitar in there, too, which can be heard as a fiery melodic line running throughout. At Artur's suggestion, he also added some amazing, trippy sitar in a couple of spots, too.
  Once all the tracks were laid down, Stephen came through with his always skillful mix. This makes almost an album worth of material that The Eclectic Collective has created from Artur's ideas. We're always excited when he drops a new one in our laps. He wrote this on a sweet rainy day in the Polish summer. 
  We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.
