RESOLUTIONS

Phil Chris sent me this song, which was little more than a beat and some chords. I then added some bass, guitar, piano, organ, and synth. Then, I sent it to Tez to work his magic on the board. he came up with two very distinct mixes. The first one, which I already posted, has two beats in it, so it sounds like a heartbeat, and it is very guitar heavy. This mix really focuses on the organ. It almost sounds like a different song, imo. I hope you all enjoy the remix.

This is the second track inspired by E.M. Forster's, "The Machine Stops". 
Vashti reluctantly leaves her cell to visit her errant son on the other side of the planet. Here's the passage that inspired me:

"The air ship service was a relic from the former age. It was kept up, because it was easier to keep it up than to stop it or diminish it, but now it far exceeded the wants of the population. This is the 7th song posted from the album I have been working on using demo tracks given to me by Wou-Wou & the Wormling during the start of the pandemic! I can't believe how fast time has passed and how long we have been working on this project. 4 songs from the album are based on a graphic novel that Wou-Wou had started before the pandemic began. The rest of the songs are reflections of the weird times we were living in.

Big thanks to Wou Wou, Bit-zone, and Stricknice for still being here after all these years. I have known and worked with people on SoundCloud probably longer than I have known high school friends, college friends, and friends from various jobs. Huge thanks to Guitar Wizards of the Future. I remember when I first began participating in the SoundCloud community, I would always eagerly anticipate a new GWOTF track, especially because I grew up in Oakland California. On her 15th birthday, the Little Mermaid swam to the ocean surface. A large ship with three masts lay calmed on the water nearby.  The Little Mermaid swam close to the cabin windows and saw a number of well-dressed people within, among them was a young prince, the most beautiful of them all.... Soon, the waves rose high and heavy clouds darkened the sky: a dreadful storm was approaching. The waves rose high as mountains and the ship dived like a swan between them. At length, the ship groaned and creaked, the thick planks gave way under the lashing of the sea, the main mast snapped asunder like a reed and the ship lay over on her side, the water rushing in..... Paraphrased from "The Little Mermaid" by Hans Christian Andersen.

Short songster song about loneliness in the city I wrote 20 years ago.

Now I've given a jazzy feel in 6/4 to the unique strophe which has only chords E & Em, transitioning to 4/4 rhythm towards the unique 'refrain' line, with up to 3 different chords!

All but drums are 'organic' tracks: bass, pocket sax, guitars and voice.
