Meral is a singer-songwriter based in the Netherlands with Turkish and Dutch roots. At the age of 6 she started with piano lessons and always had a love for music. She sang in a church choir and started writing her first songs when she was only 11 years old. Over the years she continued writing songs and poems but never really thought it would go anywhere, until she met Gift Beats, who recognised her talents and asked her to do a song together. This is how her first single ‘Toxic’ was born. Meral explores themes of relationships and heartbreak in her music, but mostly writes about things she encounters in her day to day life. She writes about serious topics but also likes to keep it fun. Meral is a versatile artist with interests in all sorts of music, from alternative rock to trap and pop. She is always looking for new genres to explore and wants to work with as many different artists as possible.
